Does anyone else feel really uncomfortable in the lower rib cage. I know it sounds weird but I thought maybe it's the weight of my breasts as they've gone pretty huge.. but it's not that.. I feel like my right ribs under my breast is in constant pain.. i sit slanted to try an relieve it...but not much joy!

Anyone else experienced this, if so did you find the reason why and relieve the discomfort...

Thanks guys x

I would also like to know the answer to this, as my baby's not big enough yet to be causing me rib discomfort.

I have this too but mostly on the right side i dont think my boobs have got much bigger yet so i dont think its that!

I think it's more that everything that was where baby is now, has been pushed upwards and has pressure on it.....don't quote me on that tho!!! Just general additional weight in my case :-( xx

agreed, just because baby isnt up in ribs, everything else that was below your ribs is now being pushed up.. theres a website that shows where all your intestines and organs go.. so surprising how much it has already moved in 20 weeks! Eeeek!

Exactly. Everything is being shifted around in there. I try to get some relief by stretching out, trying to pay attention to having good posture, avoiding underwire bras, and a heating pad helps as well.

Hi Guys, Thanks for the input.. This is sooooo annoying.. feels like a belt has been tightened around the upper ribs.. I find lying down with a cushion behind my back to push myself forward helps. Kind of feels like I'm pushing/stretching the "ache" forward then I can't lie flat for too long because of my Siactic nerve!!

Agreed, thanks! I always worry about any rib pain due to being an asthmatic. Sometimes rib pain is rib pain, and sometimes pain in the rib area is actually a lung spasm. Glad it's more than likely just guts being shifted around!

I have had this since I was about 18 weeks. It gets worse when iv been sitting a long time. At one point this week it was so painful when I tried to move I was stuck on my sofa. It's just under my breasts and it feels bruised. Although when it gets bad it feels like a stabbing pain inbetween my ribs. Aparently it gets better when baby drops so that could be months away

I have this same pain just under my left rib. It happens especially after I eat my dinner. I dont know but sometimes I think baby has her foot in my rib!

I remember thinking this was really neat and saving it:)

I am SO glad I'm not just crazy!

My ribs have been hurting too, for about a week and half...

I thought maybe it was from sleeping on my side, but no matter what position I'm in, they're a little sore. I bet it's from all my insides being smushed around ;)
