When I lie on my back, the right hand side of my uterus is always harder and sticks up higher. I do remember something similar with Sophie but not until closer to 30ish weeks, when her body was larger and firm enough to be felt well from the outside.

It's very hard and curves around/under my belly button in a jelly beanish shape. The left is ALWAYS softer. It's weird! I feel 90% of movement to the left and so does that mean feet over that way? Surely baby is too small for all thia stuff yet? Uterus is easily felt about 3-4cm above belly button. I've had one nudge in that area.

I get that on the left, and I can feel my uterus, but still no movement for me yet.

I have that on the right, but only below the belly button. I notice it especially when I lie down. Just as you described it does feel similar to when I could feel DD but with her it was much later on. I don't think it can be the baby yet, especially as that hard feeling is always in the same place and the baby is still small enough to move around.

Hi,
In the book What to Expect when expecting it facts that you can potentially feel the baby from about 16 weeks owwards.
I'm very slim and have noticed my right side is harder. I'm 13 weeks and have felt flutters.
So it's possible for the feelings at 17 weeks. You will know best.

The uterus can tilt to one side of the baby leans. Mine was tilted to the right when my midwife checked at 22 weeks.

When I used to roll over from one side I would notice the baby all bunched up on that side. Your placenta might also be towards that side and my doctor said they love their placenta so they will often curl up under it. It's like their security blanket. <3 We saw ours on ultrasound, she pressed her face into the placenta (where she can feel my heartbeat pulsing through it) and went to sleep. :cloud9:

Aww that's cute biscuits! Thomas was pressed face first into his placenta at a 4d scan at 26 weeks, annoying for the person doing the scan but it was quite adorable.

I'm not a slim person AT ALL, have felt movement from 13 weeks this time and im sure my uterus is host a horse, it's massive. I would worry it was twins but have had 2 sxanst already.

It's getting more and more lop sided, I'm actually getting concerned now! The right side ia about 26cm high from pubic bone and the far left is more like 20cm. It's like a bean shape, it's bizarre. I see my own midwife next at 19+4, I haven't seen her since 13+4 as she's been on holiday.

I felt movement from the outside yesterday behind the bellybutton and a bit lower to the left and right, so I am sure the baby is fine, just something weird with my anatomy.

I had that starting at 17 weeks with this pregnancy, it was baby:) he/she usually sits on my right side and I feel kicks and pokes on left side. Baby is still a good size at 18 weeks, so what your feeling will most likely be baby:) especially noticeable if you've already had a baby;)

I have the same thing going on. I also had it with my DS and could actually feel him roll from one side to the other. It is the baby. This one isn't as active as my DS was (yet!) so I haven't felt him/her move from the outside yet but I can feel the hard lump where he/she is when I lie down. It is always a kidney bean shape but in a different position every time I check which is how I know it is the baby.

Thought I'd update! The big hard lump aka as the baby now shifts around a lot more. Sometimes it is on the left, sometimes right in the middle.

I had an appointment today with my midwife and she said 'the lump' is definitely baby and says he or she was all hanging out a the top of my uterus. Official fundal height was 26cm! Midwife is keen to see how my anatomy scan goes (18th March).

I've been having the same thing! The left side is where he usually lays and its like a hard ball. I have been feeling and seeing kicks way higher than I should (4 to 5 inches above belly button) and I can hear his heartbeat all over (under my rib cage and at my pubic bone). I called my OB and I'm going to have another scan tomorrow to make sure fluid levels are ok.

Same! We've got left loving babies!! Mine will sometimes disappear, or move to the other sides, but more often then not, little left lump. Guess they really do have a preference!

Oh yeah, they sure do! My lump is pretty much always to the right. Can't wait to see what's going on in there on Friday.

I've seen seen an email my
midwife has sent me, she's said she suspects I have polyhydramnios and that she doesn't want me to worry but to make sure my fluid levels are thoroughly checked at my anatomy scan.

Argh now I'm stressing there is something really wrong!

Well, I had my scan today and baby is measuring fine and fluid levels are fine. But she did confirm where my uterus is and where I'm feeling kicks. So not sure why my uterus is big but not really worried now that I know LO is ok!

Minties I see you're 3rd pregnancy too. Maybe it's something to do with that?
