Why is potty trained 4yo suddenly having accidents?

My 4yo has been potty trained for a while now, always announced she needed to use the loo and never had an accident. now all of a sudden she is pooping and peeing in her pants. Sometimes she will leak some urine without completely emptying her bladder and other times she will have wet herself even more.

She doesn't tell me she needs the toilet anymore and when she does have accidents, she just keeps quiet and doesn't tell us!

This has been going on for a couple weeks now and it's becoming very frustrating. Why this sudden change in behavior? I have no idea how to fix this problem. I want to enrol her in preschool soon and can't if she keeps this up ! Please help

Have you checked for a UTI fairly common in little ones especially girls. Also children do have regressions, may just be a case of riding it through, would still enroll in preschool if that's your plan, they will be used to little ones having accidents as it's not unusual at all

The regression doesn't tie in with you telling her about the baby does it?

But I would get her checked for UTI too.
