I have been on clomid for about 6 months straight, I do everything I am suppose to do and yet every month BFN every single time, my husband got his stuff checked out, he's all fine, so its all me. Whats after clomid not working?

Hi

Sorry to hear its not working. I have only just started Clomid, i got four months worth and if it doesnt work for us we have been told we shall go straight to IVF ICSI. But we both have issues so thats why.
Hope all works out for you x

I'm so sorry to hear about your TTC struggles. We know a couple who had similar struggles. The woman has PCOS and they have tried for 2 years. They did Clomid (didn't work), then the intra-uterine transfer (didn't work), and they just had their first round of IVF last month. They just found out they are expecting last week. My reason for sharing this is to let you know that even when you have a lot of difficulty conceiving, it can happen!

I think that the next step after Clomid is the intra-uterine transfer I believe this is where they place your DH sperm directly into your cervix or even into your uterus around the time you OV.

I would really discuss your options with your doctor or seek out an inferitility specialist if you haven't done so already. Good luck to you!

If Clomid doesn't end up working for me, my doctor is bumping me to Femara - which is supposedly pretty much Clomid on steroids from what I understand.

Femara usually works on women that clomid did not work on.

ohmyitschelsi: Are you temping? And are you using opk? That is the best way to know if clomid is indeed working or not. If you are, I would also suggest using femara. That is if you had all the test done and everything seemed normal with you.

I use opks every month, and it says I ovulate every month...this month I am doing the clomid challenge..so we'll see...and DH just got his swimmers checked out and everything is okay with him...so its all me, now if they would just fix me!

are u using anything like preseed or conceive plus?
I read somewhere on here that clomid can make ur cervical mucus more hostile to sperm ironically, so these need to be used to counteract that.

I agree with the above poster.

A women just posted her story the other day about how she was on clomid and ovulating every month but they just werent catching the egg!

She used conceive plus last cycle and got her :bfp:

Perhaps just try some sperm friendly lube like conceive plus or pre-seed to help his swimmers get in there!

I use pre-seed every month too... :/ i've even tried taking robitussin during my cycle for my cm

Must be so fustrating! I got put on 3months of clomid, 50mg, i went back as that lot didnt work and they started talking about ivf being the next step, there is no way i could afford ivf and id prefer not to go down that ruite, i was also given 4months worth of 100mg clomid. I hope they find something that works for you soon, good luck

Sorry to hear...Kinda know how you feel. We've been ttc since Mar. 2011 with no luck. I was on BCpills for 10 yrs. (Funny you spend 15 yrs of your life trying not to get pregnant only to find out it's not that easy...) I've done 2 cycles of Clomid 50mg so far. The first cycle I did ovulate, but not the 2nd. So, this next cycle my OB is upping the dosage to 100mg. Hopefully this will be the month on which we have been waiting. I am back on the progesterone right now (day 2) and it is making me feel high for about an hr after I take it. I didn't notice this the first month I took it, but I was taking it at bedtime and this time I take it at lunch...? Has anyone else noticed this?
Oh, forgot to mention that I took nothing but mucinex and preseed the first month. The second month I took low dose aspirin, royal jelly in honey, mucinex, and preseed. Has anyone had luck with these products? I kinda wonder if the royal jelly kept me from ovulating.

I only hope that IVF isn't my only option after clomid not working, its crazy how expensive it is, and its even worse because I dont even have insurance...shouldn't be this hard and expensive to even start a family I'll be broke before I even have a baby! People saying have kids are expensive its just as expensive, NOT AS MUCH, but enough...to try to have a baby when you have issues

I think the only reason why our next step is ivf is because my Oh sperm count is not very good at all, but no way am i doing ivf, for 1 i cant even afford to and cant get it on the nhs because of my age.

How come you was put on clomid if you dont mind me asking?

I stopped getting my period about a year ago, and because I no longer got my period, I no longer ovulate on my own...supposley I stopped getting my period and stopped ovulating because I have gain some weight, so it screwed everything up. So they put me on Provera to get my period to come each month and Clomid to make me ovulate each month...its been like 6-7 months...and no bfp yet

Have you been ovulating each month ok on clomid then? Are you on 50mg?

Ive been using OPKs each month, and I have been ovulating each month around CD18, this month a little later, and yeah I'm on 50mg, going on 100mg this round for clomid challenge to check my fsh and such.

Ohright, Its so fustrating when everything is working fine but still no BFP :dohh:
I know its easier said than done, and iv been told this alot of times too and thought to myself, well thats easier said than done but, try not to get too stressed over it as that can effect it and then when you least expect it, itll happen :flower: babydust :dust::dust:

Well if you are only on 50, dont feel upset yet! They increase the dosage I think up to 200mg? Dont feel discouraged yet honey.

If you dont mind me asking, and this is more for my personal use so I apologize for asking under your question, but how long after you stop taking provera do you usually get af? I have taken five days of 10mg and have two days left and was just trying to guesstimate at when af should arrive.. even though I know it is different for everyone

I stopped my 5 days last Wednesday, and I have been spotting all this week...usually I get it within 5 days or so after the last pill, I was on for 10 days before too, and it would be like a week or more before I got it. I don't know if they will even let me continue Clomid since I have been on it since like February

You have been on clomid 50mg since february? why are they not upping your dosage?
