Ive been taking a 100mg Vit-B complex for about 3months now, to improve my 8-10day luteal phase....it hasnt worked so far and yesterday at 10dpo, was just about going to bed and there was a pink tinge when i wiped! So i wasnt surprised when i woke with af in full flow, so really i got a 9/10 day lp this cycle...

i dont know what else to do? Any ideas??

Thanks in advance xxx

Vitamin b may not be enough...it wasn't for me. Sometimes if you have very low progesterone you have to do things to offset that. For me personally I took vitex which added a couple days to my luteal phase and made my ovulations timely and consistent but I was still on the "short side" of luteal phases. I ended up using progesterone cream from O until af and it worked perfectly for me in combination with vitex.

hey hun, thank you for your reply...i suspected my progesterone was low and i had bloods taken at 7dpo of my last cycle (previous to the one that just finished) and it came back borderline at 19.7 but ive heard that anything over 10 is fine, so 19.7 sounds good right?

I may get myself some progesterone cream then... xx

Well it's something fertility specialist are taking a second look at according to my RE. A one time test for progesterone levels used to be the approach and now some new thinking is that multiple levels need to be taken at different times in a woman's cycle to get a clear picture of what's going on. Obviously the levels after ovulation are most important but only having one snapshot one one day of one cycle may not tell your whole story.

Also only knowing your progesterone is half the battle as I am to understand...if your estrogen ratio is much higher it can still be considered a progesterone deficit. There's a lot that goes into it as it seems and hopefully your doctors will do thorough test often to get the whole picture for you. Btw yes I did use progesterone cream (Progest brand) and it worked well for me personally. Also the vitex helped to balance the rest of my hormones so everything seemed to finally click for me. Good luck!

thank you so much! when i had my bloods done, he tested me for everything and it was just my progesterone that came back borderline, but like you said, its hardly enough to build a clear picture...hubby is away again next week and at the end of the month from cd27-cd37 and last month i ovd cd28, month before cd34, month before cd20....so gawd only knows if we will even get a shot this month, i really dont know what to do.....
Plus....my period came thursday, was heavy, friday was heavy. Got up this morning, removed tampon, then struggled to get another in...so wiped, nothing...just put a pad in and all day it has been spotless, even when iv wiped, even after a bowel movement there was nothing! how can i be heavy for 2 days then it just stop dead literally? whats all that about?? xxx

Stalking this thread as it hasn't worked for me either. I'm taking agnus castus and b100 complex and still a 10 day lp. It was totally normal before my mmc in January

sorry for your loss mrs w, i had a loss last year too and i needed my gallbladder removing which i had out in nov so it was after then when we resumed ttc that i noticed the change in my cycles....i put it down to the op, but it may have been the mc i had in june? ...but, on a positive note, to give you some hope...10day lp for me is quite normal and both my pregnancies were conceived when my lps were consistently 10days

I have just had a 10day lp but its varying between 8-10days which isnt good and ov days are between cd20-36 , so totally all over the place :dohh: xx

I have been taking B Complex and it slowly took me from a 10 day LP to a 12 day LP. Since then I have added B6 to help a little more and nothing.

its cheaper of they do prescribe it, but it can be brought...ive seen it on amazon  xx

Sorry for your loss too :hugs: I've heard that a short lp is either a weak ovulation/egg, meaning the corpus lutem is weak and dies early or a progesterone issue.

I assumed I had a 14 day lp but tbh before my mc the only cycles I tracked I got pregnant so how would I know?! My worry is that my dd implanted on 10 dpo I know that for sure so if I'm generally a late implanter I worry my lining would already be shedding before implantation.

How long did it take you to get your bfps with 10 day lp??

I'm seriously considering a totally naterual cycle with no supplements at all to be honest. I wonder if they are confusing my body. Xx

hello ladies..I was having Lp of only 6-7 days from 4-5 months.i started vitex b6 b12,folic acid progesterone cream everything i could do but it was not improving.
this months i left everything and wanted to know how long it will go now..guess what i just had my periods at 11 dpo im so so happy now. actually i was taking pregnacare and some months multivitamins.may be there was something which caused this. thank god i left everything.
now from this month my 1st clomid round is starting as my cycles are pretty long
will start from tomorrow.
i wish you lp imroves too

Thanks uzma, I'm wondering the same, if something in one of the supplements is confusing my body. I'm going to stop everything except folic acid. X

hmm thats interesting! im currently on pregnacare multivits, vit-b complex 100mg, omega 3, co-qu10. The last 2 are more to help improve the quality if the egg and omega 3 is good for alot of things and shouldnt/wouldnt affect anything hormonally im sure... Maybe i should ditch the vitbs and see what happens... As ive already started this cycle, i shall carry on then ditch them for next cycle.... On my 2 pregnancies, i got bfps both on 11dpo, my first was an unbelieavbly strong/dark bfp, whereas my 2nd pregnancy was quite faint at 11dpo, not getting really dark until 13dpo. So i must have implanted at latest 9dpo  xx
