wierd mouth on ultrasound pics?? help

Hi ladies.

I had my 20 week scan about a month ago so the baby was fully formed. Anyway, I noticed that it looked like the top lip protruded quite a bit over the bottom lip. It stuck out further. I mentioned it to my doctor and he said there was nothing wrong. No cleft lip or anything like that. Did any of you notice this on the profile shots of your LO, with top lip sticking out further? I am just worried is all.

I have heard of this a lot and mine was the same, I think it's more to do with the way the baby is in the womb, I've never heard of a baby coming out with a "funny mouth" because of it. The sonographer was looking for abnormalities so would have mentioned if it was a worry

My son's ultrasound looked that way in a profile pic but he had just taken his hand out of his mouth. She focused on him just in the nick of time to see him pulling his hand out but then he put it back in. He was born with a perfect little mouth, well, perfect little everything! So maybe your LO was just sucking on their hand!

Yep, as you can see in my profile pic, baby looks like it has a funny shaped mouth. Think its just the angle and quality of pics. All was well at my scan.

My daughter had that one of her scan pictures makes her look like a turtle, she doesn't though, as you can see.

Another scan picture of one of the boys looks like he has no lips at all, very freaky and my youngest had such a large nose on the scan it was almost the same size as his head! Scans are impressions more like shadow images and especially as they are frozen shots when there was movement they can sometimes look really odd.

Don't worry - sometimes the u/s catches movement so he may have just been sucking or something.

I had an ultrasound at 12 weeks and I swear it looked like he had the mask from the movie Scream on! Omg his bottom lip/mouth was sticking so far out! The last one I saw was totally not the same though. The ultrasounds just blow them out weird. Don't worry
