Hi Girls,:flower: just another quick one from me.......

So, as I have posted on other threads my diet has been rather naughty during this pregnancy and I can't see it improving much!:dohh: All I seem to want is sweet things. For example I had 2 glasses of cherry ade followed by an entire bag of fizzy haribos last night. Obviously this makes baby move loads which is lovely BUT I am now wondering if he will be a little hyper when he is born and maybe not settle easily? I know my mum drank a lot of coke while carrying my brother and it is true to say he is the most hyper and attention seeking out of our family. She always say's she drank too much cola as an ongoing joke when he is showing off lol! (he is 35 by the way!)

I did not drink hardly any fizzy or eat sweets with brandon and he is so passive and patient, wondering if their is a connection?

Anyway, just wondered what your thoughts or experiences are? thanks! x

caffeine passes through the placenta and unlike our own system babies take longer to break down caffeine so it stays longer in their system, caffeine is also a diuretic so it slows down the absorption of nutrition in both the mother and baby,

there's no proven safe or dangerous amount so the guideline is try and keep it minimal as with drinking and smoking, there has been a lot of link between caffeine in pregnancy and problems in later life but research is still ongoing and I don't want to scare monger on things that aren't certain :flower:

I have no idea about the hyeractivity issue but maybe you could try eating different types of fruit to satisfy your sweet tooth? I have a sweet tooth too, so I've been stuffing my face with all sorts of yummy sweet fruits - I can't get enough mango and pineapple at the moment!

If you really can't stay away from the fizzy juice and gummy sweets then make sure you drink plenty of water to help flush all the nasties out your system.

Hope this helps.
