My babys so-called dad has not bothered with him at all in all of his 14 months of life other than when my son was sick an he showed up an caused trouble was escorted out of hospital by security etc.
Hes also not on the BC.

But now out of the blue he phoned and basically demanded to see his son etc.
I told him calmly Im sorry but its too little too late, youre not a part of his life.

But now Im worried about if he gets a solicitor would he be granted access to my Ollie? :(

In all honesty, yes he probably would. It would be supervised an Under your control until he proved himself though x

Yes he probably would unless you can prove he is a danger to your LO i.e. likely to harm him etc.

It would more than likely be in a contact centre supervised though.

My partner wasn't on his son's birth certificate until this year... Yet he had access in 2010.

He has to go to court and request access, they'll grant it unless he's a danger to your or your child as the child has a 'right to see their father', not the other way round. This is so long as paternity is not denied. The Birth certificate only defines parental responsibility which he could also apply for - That way he could have his name put on the birth certificate.

It's wrong for him to have left his child for 14 months, and then demanded to know them. Hopefully he'll grow up, prove himself... If that means seeing his son once a month in a contact centre, then that's what it means. It'd gradually build up. Someone I know let their son down on court mandated contact sessions 3 times.. They now get a chance to see their son 4 times a year! If they don't show up, the right will be taken away.

Ugh thanks girls.
Heres to hoping he doesnt go to court though!

Ollie deserves better than him.

She definitely does if he was happy to walk out for over a year of her life :) <3 Maybe he's grown up? On the other hand, maybe he's still a jerk. All the best for you and your girl. x
