Have started working for a new company on the 1st of july, am now 17weeks gone, am thinking of taking maternity leave at the end of november, but am worried if I'll be qualify for maternity pay or not. Please help... Am a little bit confused and how it all works. :wacko::wacko::wacko:

To qualify for Statutory Maternity Pay you must have worked for your employer continuously for at least 26 weeks up to the 15th week before the expected week of childbirth. Will you have done that? I don't think so from your dates. However, if you have worked for 26 weeks out of the last 66 weeks and earned over £30/week during those weeks you should qualify for Maternity Allowance instead.
