I'm so confused by what I'm reading on the Direct Gov website. I started working for an organisation through an Agency on Aug 15th 2011, my due date is April 12 2012?

This is what the Direct gov reads '
You may be eligible for Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP) if you are an employee or if you work for an agency and the agency deducts tax and National Insurance from your salary. To qualify for SMP you need to have worked continuously for your employer for 26 weeks by the end of your qualifying week (which is 15 weeks before your baby is due) and still be employed in your qualifying week (your human resources office will be able to calculate the exact date for you).

Someone pls help

Your qualifying week is the week beginning 29th December - you must still be employed by the agency on this date. So you need to have worked for them for 26 weeks by the 4th January. I think that means you would have had to start working for them on or before the 13th July.

You'll need to look up the rules for SMA rather than SMP, see if you can claim that. x
