No matter what I try Lucas will not have food unless he has his milk first. He normally has a bottle at 1130 after his morning bottle and bfast. I tried today at 11 to give him some dinner and he screamed the place down until he got his milk. I am not personally too fussed with this as he'll still eat a decent sized portion of food but all the books say food before milk.

My book (blw) says milk before food!

Any which way, I would ignore the books and stick with what works and makes him the most happiest.

Books I've read say milk first too. Have you tried giving him half his bottle first, then solids, then offering the rest of the bottle afterwards? That might work as it will take the edge of his hunger first. My little man has to have a little milk first or he won't even entertain solids.

I have been told milk at first (first tastes) but when weaning is well underway (from 7 months+) then food comes first.

Anna has her food first - I am sure she would happily have milk first if thats what I gave her!

I wouldnt worry - if Lucas is eating and having milk then thats great!:flower:

This is what I had read, although in a different book it suggested months 6-9ish to offer half the bottle of milk first, then food either after that or shortly after (e.g half hour)

The boys only have one bottle now in the day (apart from 6am and 6pm bottles) with their tea and they have it first. I dont read books anymore they make me feel like I am doing EVERYTHING wrong xx

Thanks Vicky. I am trying to get rid of the 1130 bottle first but he eats a good amount and has gained 11 ounces in 3 weeks so not too concerned. Just makes life abit easier! :) X
