Hi, I've asked so many people about car seats and I'm constantly being told different advice, I know they say to keep them rear facing as long as possible but then I've been told it goes on their height, was then told it goes on weight then was told that back along A law was passed that said that no matter their weight or height they had to be rear facing till 15 months. My LG is Extremely tall so she went forward facing at 12 months, but my son who's 14 months is smaller than she was so is OK rear facing at mo. The plan is to give my son my daughters car seat and get my daughter the next size up. I was told that when her head is above the back of the seat then she can have a new one, she's 3 and I'm not even sure that's the correct advice

Hi, sorry should have mentioned, I'm in UK.

That link was a great help. I always wondered what would happen if I needed to take my kids in a taxi. I thought I'd have to carry car seats around with me. That's such a relief to know in an emergency I can just put them in a taxi. Don't know if I'd feel save having a 14 month old on my lap in the back though

Can you wrap her (boba, moby) when you get into a cab? I have a click in carseat in my stroller and use cabs regulary as we don't have a car. Here we don't have to use a car seat in a cab as its public transit, but I use one anyway. WHen we went to buy the carseat, I wrapped LO on me in the cab. She felt much more protected that way.

I have a 4 year old, 18 month old and a 3 month old and during the week my oh has our car. If I have to get a taxi I put the baby in his car seat and the other two on the seat next to each other and try to strap them into one seat belt while I sit between the 18 month old and the car seat. I've only ever had to do it a handful of times, I'd rather walk than take the risk but some times it can't be helped

I do exactly this too. Dont often get a taxi but when I must then this seems to work. The last time I was in one, though, I strapped all of the girls in, and the driver tried to tell me they were quite happy and I should sit in the front... !?! I was like 'emmm no!'
