:thumbup:Hi everyone. 1st post here and was just wondering about baby milk.

My LO is 11 weeks and I have recently moved her on to hungrier baby milk and when she was on normal milk she used to take between 7 ounces-8ounces.

Since I moved her on to hungry baby formula she only takes around 4-5 is this right?? Im worried incase it isn't and shes going off her feeds!

Thanks in Advance:wacko:

ive no experience... but i'd say this was okay, cause the hungrier baby milk has more calleries per oz... so maybe shes getting enough with less milk :) x

I put Keira on it for a while but it didn't work out, but she took the same amount of milk but she went longer between bottles x

i would be inclined to say if she is taking less then she doesnt need to be on hungry milk hun

My HV told me hungry baby and normal milk were exactly the same calorie wise just that hungry baby has something in it that expands and makes them feel fuller.

When Esmé went onto hungry baby she ate the same amount but goes longer between feeds. X

my LO is also on hungrier baby milk and she takes the same amount as she did on the normal milk

I would also say if LO is taking less milk then maybe she doesn't need hungry milk, if LO isn't going 4 hours between feeds then maybe LO is having a growth spurt, for the now just keep feeding your LO as much stage 1 normal milk as much as they need and if they still aint going 4 hours roughly then try hungry milk again.... hope this helps xx

Hungry baby formula is intended to fill your baby up more, so that they will need less to feel full. It contains the same nutrients per ouce as non-hungry formula. If your baby wants/needs more ounces of 'standard' formula per day than is recommended for their age/size, that's when you should use it.

At 11 weeks my HV told me she would expect roughly the equivalent of 5-6oz, 5 times a day. So, I would've thought your LO might be a candidate for it - but it's a good idea to talk to your HV first.

Because it fills them up more, your LO will either take less at the same intervals, or have the same amount at longer intervals, but still be satisfied. Over time and with growth spurts their demands will change and increase anyway. You might find that their weight gain drops a little in the short term as you are cutting the amount of nutrients they are getting - but that isn't necessarily a bad thing if they are still gaining well. Again, talk to HV or you'll get questions at her next weigh-in!

if hungry baby is nutritionally the same as first stage than i would definately be inclined to say she doesnt need it

all you are doing is filling the baby up but she is not getting as much nutrition as she was on normal milk
