Hi all my LO is in the process of changing from BF to FF (he's 7MO). I had stgopped winding him during/after BF a couple of months ago as he just bought it up himself so had forgotten all about needing to do it until I discovered he was getting quite uncomfortable midway through a bottle and seemed to need me to actually burp him rather than it just coming up.

Is this just a transition thing or is it likely I'll just need to keep remembering to burp him?

Thanks :flower:

Hmm, my thought is that I'm assuming he was pretty much horizontal while bfin and so when he was sat up from that position it brought the burp up and with bottle feeding it's more of a 45 degree angle so there's not that change in position to bring up the burp?

It's a general rule to burp after every ounce of a bottle but if you're using bottles that don't allow lo to get air (like dr. brown's) you can get away with half way through and at the end.

Thank you. I use the normal avent bottles with the adaptor ring they say that there meant to help vent air into the bottle not his tummy but they certainly don't look as fancy as the dr browns so I'm not sure if they do do this. I'll just remember to burp him more often... Thanks

You're welcome :) I have some of those Advent bottles too and I actually like then a little better than the dr. brown's because I actually CAN get lo to burp when she drinks from the Avent.
