Hey Ladies,

So - long story short, since coming off the pill in June 09 Ive only had 2, maybe 3 cycles

I've been going back and forth to my GP who finally ran some bloods that showed im not ovulating. He told me that I have to have been trying for at least 2 years for the nhs to help me look into it, even though I knew something was up... Ive been having lower abdo pain.

Anyway - on Tuesday this week I decided to look into private fertility specialist, and got an appointment for 3 days later! :happydance:

Had my appointment yesterday and the FS gave me an internal scan and pelvic exam and immediately diagnosed PCOS.
He has given me progesterone to start my cycles and Clomid to make me ovulate.

So - Ive gone from having to wait another year before the nhs would help to having a diagnosis and Clomid all in 3 days..... and it only cost me £250!

Im soooooo happy that I finally have some help and hope. Although having pcos sucks.

My Fs was also really impressed with how much I knew about pcos and clomid which is all down to this forum

If anyone is near west sussex I was absolutlely recommend seeing this guy, he was one of the nicest men I have ever met in my life

Have a lovely weekend ladies!

xx

Ooh you're not far from me! Can't believe your gp told you 2 years, I had a fs appointment within a month of telling the doc I thought I had pcos!

Hun, worth checking with GP again... I'm sure under the NHS guidelines he has to refer you for invetigation if you've been trying without success for an year! and if over 35 its only 6months....

Im due to go docs in a few months if i dont fall before then. Is it possible to pinch those details off you just in case i dont get any help. Im in Littlehampton

Thanksies

xxxx

Great, Gorings not too far either  About 15 min drive from me:happydance:

Thank you

:dust: to you xxxx

First that is awesome that you were able to get help so quickly.

I'm just curious though - progesterone to bring on your period? I have heard of provera to bring on your period but thought that progesterone is meant to help with your lining for pregnancy?

:dust:

Thanks ladies,

Blue 12 - Provera is progesterone, I believe its just the drugs name :-)

Sazaro - Cool! Great that you cut short your waiting time to just 1 year! :)
