My 1 month old son usually wakes up around 7pm, and is up for about 2.5-3 hours before he settles for his first stretch of night sleep. Lately he has been sleepy and wanting to doze/catnap around 8-830 (freaks out a while first). I was worried that napping that late would "reset" his clock, and that he would just do his long awake period even later, so we just try not to let him settle too much during this time.

We are finding this isnt working and last night he was inconsolable and up an extra hour (i had to drive to get him to finally sleep).

Do you think it's okay to let him have little naps during his witching times? I know being overtired makes it harder for them to settle, but I want to keep our bedtime around 10.

I let my baby lead me. When he wanted sleep I let him sleep. He's now 11 weeks and has got himself into a routine of going down at 8pm and sleeping till 4 or 5, having a feed and then going back to sleep.

If he's wanting to sleep I'd let him.

My son is 5 weeks. And is grumpy between 6 and 9. I try everything to get him to sleep. But will only have a few 10mins.
I think if he wants him to sleep let him. Because in the day he is normally only awake for 1 hour at a time max and that is enough. So on an evening he gets so overtired but nothing works.

Its all trial and error to see what works but they r so tiny if they want to sleep and u can get them to sleep just go with it.
