Because of all the problems we had I know that we made the right choice when we stopped breast feeding and moved over to formula but stories like this make me wish we had suceeded just so I could get on that bus and breastfeed in protest. What's wrong with people? Bottle feeding is best for us but I'd never be offended by a woman feeding her baby or say she should do it in private. That driver should lose his job.

This is outrageous. Although BF'ing was not for me, it infuriates me that people are treated like this.

That's shocking! Especially one of the comments at the bottom from a 'mother'. She says 'sex is natural too but we don't do that on public transport' and 'it's acceptable to take a bottle onto a bus' and 'nobody cares about your baby's feeding habits so please keep it private'! Silly cow!

This makes me sooooooooooo angry I try not to read these things as I get sick of it.
The comments from some of the mothers are just so backward, I both breastfed and and now formula feed and I would feed my baby where I damn well like!!
As for the mother who said babies should have been in routine my baby like most fed on demand!
Shame on them all :growlmad:

unfortunately it looks like this woman made up the story.

As a BFer im thoroughly disgusted anyone could make up a story like this, it makes all BFers look bad. Its not like we dont get enough stick in the first place!
Just wanted to also say its nice to see people get cross about people being discriminated against regardless of how they feed.

Aww why did she make it up. It doesnt make me think bad of bf mum's. She obviously has deeper issues
xx

Evil woman, imagine what that poor bus driver was going through having to wait days to find out if he'd lost his job while being vilified by the press.

I can't understand what she thought she would gain from it

*sighs and goes to put washing away, trying to figure her out*
xx

Oh wow, that is even worse! She made it up?? Ugh!!

I like seeing the support though :) Makes me feel better when I decided I wasn't going to pump just to go shopping :) Thanks ladies!!

Well I'm shocked that she would make that up! Thanks Anothersquish for that link. And she's still insisting that she was forced off the bus!

It's a terrible thing to have lied about but it's good to know the bus company and the driver were supportive of breastfeeding in public after all. It's just a shame some of those people commenting on the original story were so narrow minded.

Ah what a shame people are so sad, got m nice and worked up for the day tho. :winkwink:

How bizarre! All she gained from it was a bunch of flowers and she caused distress to the driver who must have been worried about his job - think social services shud pay this woman a wee visit. Maybe she is in need of some help for mental health problems? Coz it doesnt sound like she did it to gain anything excpet for some attention.

She owes that poor bus driver an apology! Stupid, stupid woman.

What a strange woman to make that up  The poor bus driver must have been so worried about it all, lucky that cctv showed he was innocent.

I know im in the wrong forum but have been following this
That poor poor bus driver!!! That lady needs her head checked!

You're more than welcome to read and comment though.

It is very odd. I do feel that as a country we need to do more to support breastfeeding mums and babies but this woman hasn't done them any favours with this lie, those awful comments on the story proved that.

However there's been another woman in the Daily Mail today who was attacked by a MIND charity shop manager with a can of air freshener when she breastfed her baby in one of the shop cubicles.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...ted-breast-feeding-charity-shop.html#comments

She was trying things on when her baby started to cry so she started to feed it and the manager was peering in at her through the curtain, sprayed her with air freshener and shouted "your breastmilk stinks" or something.

I think he's lucky she went to the papers and not the police. I'm sure they would want a word with him for being a peeping Tom and for squirting a mum and baby with an aerosol.

It's crazy but the area manager was there at the time and she backed him up.

I think Scotland have the right idea in this, it should be illegal to prevent a mum feeding her baby wherever she may be and by whatever method and he should be locked up for attacking her like that.

If she did make this whole thing up, it's just bizarre. What on earth would possess someone to do that? Possible financial gain? I think she should be fined heavily if she did indeed make the whole thing up. A man could have lost his job if the whole thing wasn't caught on film. As if it's not hard enough for women to breast feed in public. Bizarre. Totally bizarre.
