Wondering about BFP/BFN's & how long it takes HCG to leave your system?

I tested again on a cheapy ebay test this morning & got a fairly strong line.
Looks identical to the lines I was getting when my AF was a week late in january.

What were everyone elses lines like after a couple of weeks or so after D&C/MC?

Just wondering if mine are quite normal to still be this dark.

I know, I've turned into a whole different type of POAS addict these days, willing that second line NOT to appear or at lest get lighter

I could have written this post as I am in the same situation, had my last scan at the EPU a week ago Monday. Gave a sample which tested positive, they said they don't need to see me for a another scan as it all looks clear, a couple of clots but not pregnancy sac. All I have to do is re-test on the
30th & call them if I still get a I don't know what will happen if I get a positive, I assume they will want to see me again?

Well, I've tested twice this week both show a clear It's been 2 weeks since my mc, I just want my period

Wow thats spooky sarahc, i was also scanned the same day & they saw practically the same thing!

Only difference is mine said call them if I'm still positive in 6 weeks.

That's what makes me wonder as well, you were told 6 weeks & I was told to call them back on the 30th. The thing I am noticing more & more as I read these boards is just the vast difference between what each woman is told, there doesn't seem to be a guideline.

The GP I saw didn't even know what to do with me & had to call a collegue at a different practice.......doesn't instil me with confidence for when we try again!!

It is amazing how much they vary, sometimes I swear they make it up as they go along!

My midwife was the same, I went to see her after I had the first private scan which showed a problem, she didn't know where to send me & had to ring round!

Something else I was wondering...

If some iui/ifv/clomid TTC-ers get HCG as a 'trigger shot' & it's out of their systems within 2 weeks, then how come residual HCG after a D&C doesnt come out of your system for 6 weeks, even if it's lower than the amount they give you for a trigger?

Also, why do people say you cannot ovulate until you get a BFN, surely that can't be true, or they wouldn't use HCG to trigger ovulation?

I really need to make friends with a gyne so I can ask all these questions, lol!!!

Be careful I thought I had a mc and was still showing positive two weeks later. That was because I was still pregnant but it was ectopic (hence no sac).

I am sure you will be ok, but I wouldnt wait 6 weeks.

Because I waited so long my ectopic ruptured and I am lucky to be alive.

Ordinarily I would be really worried about that mazza, especially with my left hand side pain I'm experiencing at the moment.
But as I'd have been 15 weeks tomorrow, I presume they would have seen it by now or it would have ruptured already? How far were you with the ectopic?

I'm not in any great pain or anything, it's like ov pain, just a bit more intense.

I'll put it down to my body trying to ovulate for now, I do ov fairly early so an attempt already wouldn't suprise me.

I think i'll give myself the deadline of a week today to either get a bfn or the line to get significantly lighter & if it doesnt I'll ask for another check over.

They must be sick of the sight of me by now, pmsl!

It took about 2 weeks for the HCG to leave my system and for me to get a . I've been charting and temping since my (medically managed.. tablets) miscarriage about 3 weeks ago. And I got a +ve OPK 2 days ago, but no temp climb yet... ?

Hoping so much for you honey. Must be sooo crazy making that your tests are still so dark. Did I see at one point you thought that your lines were actually getting darker???

Ok - have to ask it - is there any chance you could have ovulated and be pregnant again? and hopes.

OK - sorry Dan-o. Just read on another thread by you that you are still spotting. I agree that it is unlikely to be a new pregnancy if you are still spotting. So sorry honey.

Are you temping honey? my temping is helping me to figure out a little more about what is going on - although I have to admit I am kinda confused too!! I'm just hoping and praying that my temps will confirm O, or that AF will arrive... anything really to get out of this waiting phase.

I'm so sorry you are getting such a rough ride - totally unfair. big big and speak soon honey.

honey -have they given you a scan to make sure there is no placental tissue left in your womb? I was reading this this morning:

And I totally agree with you - I don't think HCG would stop you from ovulating - but progesterone would.
