My working tax has been put down from £37 a week to now £8 a week which means i am now about £100 less a month, Does this mean i should be able to get more housing benefit now?

Thanks!

well this all depends on why your working tax has gone down in the first place?
if its because you earn more then maybe not but if its because of your total earnings from last year then im not certain - sorry xx

Your housing benefit (sounds from your post like you're already claiming) should be automatically recalculated to take your new Tax Credits into account. You should get a new statement in the next week or so.

Yes you should do. My tax credits dropped and my housing benefit went up

Nothing has happend and i am still receving the same housing benefit, Its bloody joke im close to strugerling with getting £100 less a month!

I have sent an email so hopefully i hear back, My working tax has dropped because i earned more last tax year but salary was the same its just bonuses that affected it.. But my monthly salary now is the same!!

Call everyone involved.....tax credits, housing benefits people, everyone. You need to know what's going on, and I've found that unless you keep asking the silly questions, you'll never get the right answers.

With my last post I just went by my own experiences. My TC's have chenged 3 times in as many months and I've had 4 recalculations in that time, all to do with the TCs.

Get on the phone to them, and see what they say. Call HB first, as they're likely to be the easiest to get hold of.

well ive stuck a letter in the post with proof that my working tax has gone down, i just really hope i can receive more housing benefit :( Having £100 less a month is huge!!
