I posted this in first tri but thought it might be better off here...

Hi ladies.
Recently I've been worrying about my c section scar as my pregnancy progresses.
I had a section in my last pregnancy at 26 weeks.
At my booking appointment, my midwife said that the problem I have now is that, as my uterus wasn't fully expanded at time of delivery, my scar isn't technically by my bikini line, it's more straight through the middle.
She said if I ever get any severe pain around my scar or uterus then to immediately go to the hospital.... I was so freaked out by her saying this that I forgot to ask why! Do I have more chance of it rupturing?

I'm high risk again so I have an appointment with the consultant in a week or so, so I guess I'll find out more then...

I've definitely been having more cramps during early pregnancy than I did last time... Could this be down to the scar tissue stretching?

I know no-one can give me the answer but I just wondered if anyone had been in a similar position and how did subsequent pregnancies affect your scar?

I can't answer all your questions but I can say that having a c-section automatically makes you high risk. Also some women do get pain from their scar stretching. I'm only 16 weeks along and haven't felt any additional pain yet but open to the possibility of it happening.

Hi I'm almost 34 weeks pregnant with my fourth baby. I've previously had 1 section last baby and was really worried about my scar too, but luckily i've been fine.

Hi
I had a c section with my second. I found the stretching pains were crippling during my third pregnancy. It's where the ligaments are stretching around the dead scar tissue. It was worse on sudden movement from side to side in bed, off the floor, etc. I was checked over but all was found to be totally normal. My ob told me that it was very common. I'm in my fourth pregnancy now and the sMe pains kicked in at about 10 weeks.

A bikini line scar is preferable to a midline scar but as long as you attend your antenatal and inform them of concerns you should be ok Hun.

The risk of uterine rupture is still very small.x

My scar is now over 7 years old and is itching so much some days that I literally scratch and scratch for hours. I hate my scar. It's ugly and has a weird numb/hypersensitive sensation thing going on, its gross.

Thanks for all your replies ladies. I thought I'd wait until I saw my consultant before I replied. I had my appointment the other day and he said it was ridiculous and couldn't understand why my midwife would say that.
There's a tiny risk but joking to be concerned about.

I've had my 3rd section nearly 2 weeks ago, and only ever got the odd pain around my scar tissue, most of my pain was due to spd and baby grinding his head in between my pelvis, I had a lot of other pains in my bump but they never could figure out what it was, my consultant said the it was the scar tissue being stretched but i'm not sure it was due to where the pain was, a midwife doctor suggested that it was because of having 3 pregnancies in 3 years. theres lots of different pains you can get in your bump not all is because of the scar.
when it comes to the scar your looking out for sharp pain, burning sensation or unbearable pain
