Worried about feeding my 2nd?

I had no problems at all with breast feeding my 1st, he latched on so easily and quickly!

But I'm worried about being able to feed my 2nd, or it being that easy again?

The main reason I am worried is that there are a lot of people on here and irl who say that they struggled with their 1st and hope to try with their 2nd..... So if it's possible for it to be hard the 1st time and then easy the 2nd time then surely it's true too for the other way around?

Glad u posted, I'm wondering the same thing myself! Although I have no plan for the second one yet :haha:

My dd latched perfectly from day one, but the first few days were still excruciating, u know how ur nipples just get tougher, so it's less painful, I'm wondering if it will revert back to pre baby stage and have to go thru the pain all over again...

Hope someone will share their experiences :flower:

I don't have any advice as I don't have two yet, but I'm thinking at least if I do have more difficulties with a second child my understanding of BFing is better, I'm more experienced and I know what to expect, so it'll hopefully that will help me cope!

I had the opposite... my first was a struggle but I managed, but I really really hope the second is better!

Any ladies with both/either sets of experiences?

Hi, I am breastfeeding my second son and overall am finding it musch easier. It was still very painful at first and I even bled this time which I didn't first time round! My eldest son is 3 and a half though so maybe if there is a smaller age gap your nipples may still be tough!! I think just being more confident and knowing that it does get easier helped alot and expecting it to be difficult and painful etc. The first time round all these things paniced me, as did the frequent feeding which made me think I wasn't producing enough. I trust my body to know what its doing this time and appreciate how quickly the hard bit goes and it has got easier much more quickly. I would say that after the first 2 weeks it wasn't painful anymore. Good luck

Thanks Sam's mummy x

My son is 4 now, it's been 2yrs since I last fed him! I hope this next LO catches on just as easily!
