Hi guys,
After reading through some of the posts on here I have just started worrying all over again. First of all I am really sorry for all of your losses, my heart goes out to you all. I am just looking for a little advice if anyone can help me?
Ok, so at 6 weeks I started spotting brown and I went straight up to A & E and had an internal scan. They found a heartbeat and I was reassured for about half an hour, but I still continued spotting brown. The following Friday, I started bleeding slightly heavier, red blood. I then was convinced that it was over, however after going back up to the ward, I was given another internal scan and baby had grown and a heartbeat was found and I was told I was 7 weeks 4 day. Since then I carried on spotting brown until Saturday just gone, when the bleeding stopped (So I was spotting for about 3 weeks). Since then I have had a lot of discharge, but no more blood (touch wood!). I had no pain apart from mild period type cramps which I was told was normal.
What I'm really asking is if there is anyone who has seen a heartbeat twice and then went on to miscarry? Or has anyone had my experience and then gone on to have a healthy pregnancy?
I am fighting to get a 12 week scan at the moment, as they will not give me another scan before then unless I have very bad cramps or heavy, red bleeding. I may not even get the 12 week scan as I have had 2 already, even though the bleeding has gone on since. I've been to doctors and seen my midwife multiple times, but they just tell me to wait and see.

Hi Krissie, I know exactly what you are going through. I have had spotting and at times bleeding both brown and red pretty much through my first trimester. I had a scans at 6 weeks, 8+5 weeks and 10+6 weeks and everything has been fine. They couldn't see any evidence of the bleeding having came from my womb at all. It has been very worrying though.
My consultant has checked my cervix a few times and he said he could see erosion. Apparently this is more common in pregnancy due to the hormones. It can make you bleed on and off and has nothing to do with the health of the baby. Still worrying though!!! It might be worth looking into.
It has now been 11 days since my last bleeding episode so I am hoping it will settle down. My consultant told me it might after the placenta kicked in as your hormones dont fluctuate as much.

Hope this helps, Nicola
