For the first time in months I'm starting to get worried that I won't be able to keep up with Aisling! I think either she's going through a growth spurt or else I'm having an issue with my supply. She's been feeding more often over the last week or so and I've been getting noticeably less milk every time I pump. I only need to pump enough for a 180ml bottle of EBM for the last feed and I'm really struggling to get this - used to get it easily in 3 sessions before her feeds, now it's at least 4.

She used to sleep through the night and now she's awake at least once for a feed. And when she feeds at night she seems to drain my breasts very quickly and ends up sucking on an empty one before I notice which has made them pretty sore.

I guess I'm just after reassurance that this isn't going to last forever and that my supply will eventually catch up! She's been gaining weight pretty slowly over the past month so not suer if I need to do something to up my supply - other than fenugreek, it doesn't agree with me!

We have just gone through a growth spurt i think , well he has always fed pretty much every 3 hours but it went down to 2 1/2 plus he slotted an extra feed in, used up ALL of my freezer supply of ebm and still had 6oz formula last thing at night !!

Half the time I don't think he is even hungry I think he just enjoys feeding !

I always notice that I seem to express less if I haven't drunk much water that day.

Hopefully the growth spurt will be over soon for you!

Thanks hon. I only have 180ml of EBM left and I'm being stubborn with not wanting to give formula if possible but I can't see me getting through the weekend without it at this rate! She's moaning while she's feeding as well which makes me worry there's not much there when she does feed....

Olivia moans when my letdown doesn't happen fast enough, hope the spurt is over soon xx

It wont last hun and the best thing ( and I know you know this but for anyone else ) is to keep putting her to your breast. Getting those valuable signals to your boobs to up the ante is vital. Your supply will match her demand in a couple of days if you just stick with it.

You are doing soooo well!!!! Keep going honey :hugs:

Thanks girls :hugs: Things do seem to be calming down a bit now which is good. She's going through a phase where every other night she'll wake at 3am for a feed so the next day when she sleeps through, I have very full (.)(.) so I can catch up on my pumping! :D
