ok mya is a wonderful baby girl at only 17 days old she pretty much sleeps thru the night, i have to wake her for a feed at night otherwise she would go from 8pm till 6am with nothing.

But i am a little worried, she seems to drink ALOT of milk during the day and before bed, she will easy polish off a 5oz bottle of SMA 1st milk and generally she is feeding every 3-4 hours occasionally she will want a couple more ounces between her 2pm n 5pm feed but otherwise is pretty much on que.

a couple of nights ago tho in a space of 3 hours she must have had about 10oz of milk and i am now starting to worry as to where she is puttin it. I mean her stomach is sooo tiny how on earth does she have the room. during the day when we wind her she sicks up about a tablespoon full of milk.

her nappys are always heavy with wee's even when changed an hour n half after the last and she poo's once a day but they are massive and very loose.
she also does a serious amount of bottom burps lol.

do u think she is over feeding??? i am so worried that she will end up over weight or that she will end up with some sort of digestion problems because of it.

I would say 4-5 oz's every 3/4 hours is fine. This is what my LO took at that age.

If you really are worried she's taking too much you can talk to your HV about it.

Sounds ok to me too but if worried maybe speak to your HV

It sounds perfectly fine to me as well honey. I remember Georgia taking about 10oz in less than three hours and wondering if it was ok! But she was fine. I don't think you have anything to worry about, but as some of the others have said, check it out with you HV if you'd feel better.

My daughter is 6 weeks old and takes 5oz every 2.5 hours throughout the day then does a 5 hour block and a 3 hour block at night! So that makes 9 x 5oz bottles in 24 hours!

she cannot have bigger bottles as she has reflux and this amount is just about ok for that, and also she is on comfort milk which is easy to digest so may explain the regular feeding.

If you lo is coping with that amount and seems to need it then I'd say she's fine! sounds great about the sleeping through too!

Dont worry about feeding your baby too much hun, if your baby has eaten too much then she'll just throw up what she cant take :)
Anyways, seems about right what you're giving her

My HV and MW both said you cant overfeed a baby..they'll either refuse to take it or puke up what they cant take.

I was worried for my Lo a couple times when he's taken more than 1000ml in a day at only a couple weeks old.
