As some who follow my journal knows, I suffer with my periods every monthly is painful and quite heavy. However is the week before my period that's become an issue, I get very lightheaded and dizzy spells too, and feel really sick with it too. Every time I mention this to my doctor he dismisses the lightheadiness and dizziness as "one of those things". I literally can't do much at all or leave the house when it's so bad. I have checked my blood pressure whenever I feel this way but it is normal.
I'm worried something more major is going on with me. I am currently waiting for a scan as the doctor wants to check I don't have polycystic ovaries, but is that a normal symptom for PCOS? As far as I'm aware my iron levels are okay.

HELP :flower:

I used to suffer terribly like you and missed a day at work every month because it was so bad. Sickness, diarrhea, severe cramping in my legs and pelvic area, nothing helped. I used to worry something was wrong and was tested for PCOS, sent for scans to check out my uterus and everything was fine. My doc was more sensitive than yours and we tried many painkillers before I found one that finally helped as long as I took it as soon as I felt twinges of pain starting. I finally went on the depo jag which took my periods away completely, something which I was extremely grateful for. Maybe you are just like me and unfortunately we suffer badly from the symptoms of periods. What I did notice though was when I came off the depo to conceive (I was on depo for 12 years bliss!) I initially dreaded the thought of periods returning and having to deal with all the pain again but it wasn't half as bad, I was often told that time would help sort out the issues maybe that's what it took? And since having my baby I never had period pain since. Try not to worry your story might just be similar to mine. Big hugx

:hugs: Thank you, is so nice to know I'm not alone. I did try the depo 8 years ago a bled constantly for 6 month's so they took me off it unfortunately. I did ask the doctor to try the pill (again as i'd been on it several years before) and he said that he didn't want me on it as "at your age you should be thinking about a family and also with your medical history it wouldn't be a good idea" (was his words, even though my boyfriend doesn't feel ready for kids yet). Tbh I don't feel he really understands me but I don't want to change before I have my scan done and over with.
