I'll be 14 weeks tomorrow. I'm sure you guys get this all the time but today I've been pretty worries about listeria.

I've had a recurrent yeast infection for a month and a 1/2. Because of this, I altered my diet to cut out most carbs and unnecessary sugars which feeds yeast. For the past week and a half, I've been eating lots of fresh veggies and some fruit. I do wash all of it to the best of my availability but it's hard to get every crevice of broccoli or cauliflower for example.

For the past two days, I've had an unsettled stomach and one bout of diarrhea yesterday. Do you think everything is okay with me?

Thank you guys so much for your help! I'm a neurotic FTM.

PS. I finally got rid of the yeast as of yesterday but now have BV. :dohh:

I know what you're saying, and I'm sure you're fine! If you're symptoms persist maybe have a doctor check it out.

Here's something I was going to do, cause I understand the wonder of "did I clean this vegetable good enough?"

I've heard about stuff like this before, and I've heard it works well. Hopefully this helps!

Thanks Mushymilk! I may try the mixture of vinegar and water next time. Hopefully I'm just worried for nothing. If i get worse or not better by Monday, I'll definitely give my Dr. a call.

You probably just have diarrhea from the sudden upping of your fiber intake.

I agree with purplecupcake. I was pretty constipated a couple weeks ago and upped my fiber with more fruits, veggies and fiber cereals and bars and I've had on and off diarreah. The joys of pregnancy, ya know? Lol

Thanks guys! I feel a little better today. I was still freaking out yesterday about listeria so decided to sanitize my kitchen and sink with a bleach cleaning spray. Cross contamination you know!?! Then I started to freak out about the fumes.

My poor DH for putting up with me! I feel like I need to be medicated. I've never been so obsessive in all my life. My constant infections don't help down below. I'm sure it's all worth it in the end!

I had a chat with someone tonight about this. With all the rules you have to find an interpretation / understanding that you are comfortable with. Personally I'm not happy to eat pâtés and mercury high fish, but I will eat things other people would avoid like shellfish and runny egg yokes. As long as good hygiene is maintained then I am happy to 'risk it' because I believe the risk to be so tiny. I eat in places I can trust and food I've eaten before. For some people even a tiny risk is too much and so that's not the right thing for them. If it comforts you to be so cautious, than stick with it. If however it causes you more stress then you might want to talk over your fears with your doctor.
