Heyy

I babysat for a good friend a few nights ago, she has an 8 & 3 year old and a 2 month old.
They were all in bed asleep when i got there, about 8ish. Now, the 2 month old is in his own room upstairs, I asked about monitors and she didnt have any =/ So anyways I asked my partner to drop mine off, so i would feel alot better if he did wake up. So the 2 month old wakes up for a bottle at about 1ish, went in, bottle ready for him, and hes lying on his front crying, So gave him is bottle and a quick text to mum asking if she puts him down on his tummy, she said, Yes, i do, otherwise he doesnt sleep' Right, so, I put him down on his tummy, but did I do the right thing? As if something happened to him, while he was on his tummy, would It have been my falut?

I dont think it would have been your fault, its hard because as a mum you expect the babysitter to follow your wishes but you as a babysitter know its dangerous and would obv feel awful if anything had happened.
I would have probably lay the baby on its back whilst I was responsible for it:blush:

Hm, tricky. As a mum I would expect a babysitter to do as asked with my LO, however I always stick to the safety guidelines so I don't really know what I'd do in your situation tbh. Maybe I'd have put him on his tummy then sat by him listening to him breathe till they came home, lol!

Honestly, I think you did the right thing. Liv never slept on her back. Ever. One of the biggest reasons we co-sleep is because she refuses to sleep on her back as it prevents her from breathing fully (she's got breathing issues because of the fucktard nurse after delivery who deep suctioned her nose and caused massive inflammation. Didn't go away fully till she was 6+ months) If we're co-sleeping she can sleep on her side and when she was tiny she'd sleep on my chest.

That said, I would be upset if a babysitter didn't follow my instructions and put her on her back as it caused problems breathing. You never know, she may have a perfectly logical reason for putting him on his tummy.

hmm 2 months if he cant roll both ways that is dangerous

but you did do what she asked so it would have not been ur fault

I'd be really uncomfortable too, tricky one! Wouldn't say your fault though

Thanks guys! was just thinking about it lol!!
