As everyone else I absolutely FRINGING LOVE Christmas :D everyone is always so happy and loved up lol (or is it just the sherry?)

But every year since I was a little girl I always get a little sad about the the ppl who have nothing on Christmas or no one to spend it with. I always wanted to feed the homeless on Christmas day but my mum would say I was too young, now I have my own kids and wouldn't dream of leaving them on Christmas day.

I have no spare cash, we struggle to make ends meet as it is (I started the thread on buying 2nd hand gifts) but I was wondering if I could DO something? Or make something (cheap haha) for someone........but I don't know who or what!?!?
Any suggestions of something or somewhere I could volunteer this time of year?

Perhaps pop into a few of your local charity shops like Help the Aged and Barnardos and see if they know of any ways you can do some volunteering with local organisations/charities

Also I know some shops now, nearer Christmas do a scheme where you give a gift (new) and they distribute to kids in care etc. I'm sure Tesco did one last year and you just take it to the store.

I'm going to make a little food hamper for some elderly neighbours. It won't cost too much-I'm putting in things like tea, coffee, biscuits, crackers, scones etc but I know they will appreciate it a lot xx

I made a food hamper for f i l x we're makin rum mince pies for everyone this year as we can't really afford much but my father in law is skint like us so I spent £1 of every week's food budget, buying nice biscuits that were on offer or a tin of something! It's added up quiet a bit :D

I could see if maybe a could do a few hours :D (hopefully someone will have the kids)

Help at a charity shop
Ask at local schools if they need any help with school xmas fayre
contact charitys- most value time more than money

I volunteer at the school one day a week :D I'm training to be a teaching assistant! I'm hoping to do a few more hours coming up to Christmas :D I use the excuse the extra hands as the kids will be hyped up but really it's for me haha I love the excitement

You could even just offer to go shopping for someone who struggles.. maybe an elderly neighbour who will have to brave the cold/get the bus.... something as simple as that can mean a lot.

This time last year we relied heavily on food banks to keep us going. A very kind family had sent us a food parcel with a few special Christmas treats - which I was ever so greatful for. Maybe you could contact your local food bank and see if they need donations?

If you knit you could knit up a few scarfs or hats for the homeless.
