Would you/is it safe to use a fleece blanket as a bottom sheet in the cot?

As the title says really. some of you may have read my thread there about baby not sleeping in the night in her cot but I was just wondering if I put down the big fleece blanket she she uses in the day down it might help.

I have used a fleece blanket as a crib sheet for a few days in our travel cot when we were traveling over the holidays.
I don't know if it's recommended or not, but it worked for us.

Archie has always had a fleecy blanket under him (tucked under the mattress), it was the only way we could get him to go down in anything other than the pram!!!!!!

Tight fitted crib sheets are what is recommended.

we do all the time and have done so since LO was tiny, its warmer and softer than cold sheets.
she has also been swaddled in a fleece blanket since 2/3mths x

I used a fleecy blanket that she loved to sleep with during the day, I just made sure it was tucked tightly under the mattress, worked a treat x

i have a fleecy blanket over my sons cot sheet cause after a night feed his cot would be cold and he wouldnt settle so put the fleece blanket down and its so soft and warm he loves it and settles straight away x

Personally, I wouldn't. My LO is a very warm baby and I would worry about him overheating.
xx

I have done in travel cot and did last night consider putting it in cot as it's huge and will wrap right under as my little tyke dug at his sheet that much every time i went in i had to take him out and put it back on

I wouldn't personally use a fleece blanket either on the mattress or over the top. LO sometimes naps in his swing and I put a little fleece over his legs but only because I can watch and monitor his temp regularly. The SIDS guidelines recommend cotton sheets and blankets only...you can buy lovely snuggly brushed cotton sheets if you think the cot is too cold.

Hope you find a solution that works for you.
