I'm 8+6 today and I just found baby's heartbeat with my doppler!! I've been trying for the past week or so with no luck and after only a few minutes of moving the probe round I heard it, clear as day!

I didn't have a full bladder and I'd just eaten lunch so my tummy was making all sorts of noises, lol. I really didn't think I'd hear it. The heartrate was around 165 and was music to my ears

Yeah, I bought a big bottle of ultrasound transmission gel from eBay too, it was just under £3 I think. I've heard you can use other types of gel/oil, though.

I had to put the probe really low down, right above my pubic bone and angled downwards behind it. I also had to keep the probe still for a while, I'd have missed it if I'd just kept moving it. I held it in the same spot for about 30 seconds and then heard a very faint boom-boom-boom, so I pressed down a bit harder and heard it more clearly. It was still too faint to register on the screen most of the time though, it only flashed up with a number a couple of times.

I've got angel sounds Doppler but headphones are broke so I've got a new Doppler coming hopefully Monday its same one as yours! So excited! I'm 8 weeks today or 8+6 according to my midwife. Yipeee

I'm uncertain whether to get one. I'm having a scan at 8 weeks so I might see how that goes and then maybe order one if that doesn't help make it seem real /indicate it is growing ok.

I just found one of my babies too, very quickly though, didn't get to hear it for long, its a lot lot quicker than my heartbeat. DH heard it too, but I would have liked to hear it longer. I've put it away now because it frustrates me to be honest, I hope it will be better later on in the pregnancy

It does get easier to find the HB, I found it a lot quicker the second time I tried it today! But with my second baby I couldn't find her HB until 12 weeks and after that it was easy every time. I think she'd been hiding

i actually got it out another time, and found it very quickly, well, 1 heartbeat anyway, but apparently its hard to hear different heartbeats with twins. Its super fast isn't it?

Yep, my LO's is around 165 whereas mine's around 80 so it's twice as fast. It's a lovely sound!

I found mine for the first time today as well! SOOOO exciting! Mine was also much lower than I expected (nearly at my hairline) with the probe facing downwards. Very exciting!!

Yah for heartbeat! My doppler has a problem getting the number though, it comes and goes (and is usually not on there), but I'm happy just hearing it to be honest!
