Yay, sweep!

Had a sweep today about 5:30, about 5 hrs ago... I was 3cm dilated (from closed at 37 weeks) and only 20% effaced.. Been having some painful contractions since but nothing regular yet. Gonna go take a bath with some clary sage and hope to get things moving, midwife was hopeful but I'm not so sure, I haven't any bleeding like i did with the sweep with ds2 that worked

Thank you! I'm afraid it's not working :/ the contractions seem to have tapered off despite anything I do to try and keep them going. I keep trying to read stories and see if it's still possible but I'm not sure

Aww I'm sorry it does the seem to be working :/ I have read some of your recent posts and you just seem so fed up and uncomfortable recently, I hope it just suddenly happens for you ASAP. I know how it feels, I am on #4 and only 28 weeks and I know he needs to be in there a lot longer but believe me, mentally and physically I am done!! Good luck and labour vibes!!!

Hope it works for you don't worry about contractions sweep often break you water too ...so hang in mama I going to Dr for 38 weeks app hopefully she do sweep for me too as I'm already 2-3cm dilated. ......labour dust on you ...

I hope it works for you! I had a sweep about 24 hours ago and nothing. But I'm only 38+3 and sweeps never work that esrly for me. Hope your little one is in your arms soon!

Thank you all! So far still at home having the odd painful contraction, but not holding out too much hope! When I had mine done last time it was the day after my due date and I pretty much went straight into labor, so still early this time but i can hope! The kids are with grandma today so it would be perfect timing! Buut not so sure :/. Will keep updating!
