Our yellow bump was due 8th Oct .. that day passed as well as the rest, induction was then booked for 20th Oct

Come Sunday 17th Oct around 3am I was woken with a couple of pains, nothing to bad but noticed they were coming quite regularly around 4-5mins lasting for about 50 seconds!!
I left hubby sleeping and pottered around for a while and carried on timing, but they just refused to get closer together and ended up around 7mins apart
This went on through Sunday, went to the pub for lunch etc and come evening they had stopped.

Early hours Monday they started up again they were taking my breath away so hubby went and bought me a hot water bottle and paracetomol. I went to my midwife appointment, had another sweep (3rd one) and was told I was 1cm and baby was still high, I was gutted all those pains for nothing as that is what I had been a few days earlier and then again the pains stopped that evening.

This went on until Tuesday night (day before induction) me and hubby decided to get an early night in preparation for the possible long day ahead of us, induction was scheduled for 10am the next day.
So he dropped off to sleep and my pains started again, but really intense, they carried on alllllllll night and I didnt go to bed, woke hubby at 5am for some support after 3 baths. We set off to the hospital at 9.30am and I was shown to my bed, they saw I was contracting and when the doctor came to do her rounds to find out if they were to use gel or pessary to get me going and did an internal, I was 5cm!!! :happydance:
It was such a relief that all that pain through the night had done something, the decision was made to send me up to labour ward and break my waters.

A midwife escorted me up around 11.30am and showed us into the room (i had got the birthing pool room, which i wanted soooo much, but didnt get to use)
I started stood at the window with the cold air blowing on my face, then I was leant on hubby and then the midwife came in and I asked for some pain relief, my legs were giving way under the pain. She offered me gas and air and nearly took her hand off, it was amazinggggg and I felt very drunk but very aware. They broke my waters (could have refilled the ocean with what came out!) and left me to it for a while, they couldnt monitor baby very well so ended up with the clip. I felt very relaxed and with it and was coping amazingly on G&A. Come 6pm I had been stuck at 7cm for some time so they decided to put me on the drip (I didnt know they had done this) and ended up with contractions on top of eachother which were distressing my baby so they turned it down.

This all turns into a blur, I remember being led on my side screaming for help and that I needed a c-section as there was something wrong, I looked at hubby and he was in tears seeing me like I was, I couldnt describe it and then I asked for the epidural. The doctor came and fitted it until minutes later I realised it wasnt working and was still sucking on the gas and air like a mad woman, they left me for a while and then gave me a further 5 doses throughout the hour (one a double) and it just wasnt working. By this point I was freaking out and extremely distressed, babies heart was dropping and the clip wasnt working so they scraped babies head :nope:

After abundances of people coming in and out me in a state of shock and begging for a section the decision was made .... i was going to theatre, baby was very distressed and stuck. They rushed me down and then it came. I had to sit up for my spinal through my mass of contractions, with feet up on a stool and bent over a table, it seemed to take forever and my body was bearing down which was complete agony and they were telling me not to but it wasnt me it was my body I was screaming, the whole time hubby sat outside just having to listen, some time later the spinal was in, I felt the warmth and went numb, it was heaven :cloud9:

They led me down and did an internal (think they were fitting the catheter) when they started discussing the fact i had gone to 10cm within that 35min!! and discussing the possibility of forceps instead, I just wanted my baby out! it was decided against due to an obstruction (still to find out what it was)

***UPDATED*** since found out baby was sunny side up (facing the wrong way back to back with me, and due to the larger size, baby was stuck and would have sustained facial injuries against my pelvis if born naturally)

Hubby was then brought in, and the screen was put up ..... our yellow bump turned ................ BLUE I was in shock

Noah Thomas was born at 22.28 weighing 8lb 9oz and 56cm long :cloud9:
Words still cannot describe that moment, then hubby just put his head on mine and we both burst into floods of tears as we heard our baby boy cry
Noah was assessed etc then passed to daddy and we just sat and stared at him whilst I was stitched up.

I was discharged 3 days later on lots of pain killers, iron tablets and have to inject myself twice a day for 6 weeks with blood thinners due to the section but its all worth it!!

Our angel is now 19 days and its going sooo fast but im loving it

Congrats to those who have made it this far and thanks for reading my story

Wowwww!! And I agree with the quoted poster, you can't stop your body bearing down! I didn't have a section, I had a drug free vaginal delivery and it was HORRIBLE feeling. Can't control it at all!

Noah is gorgeous! Sorry you had such a horrific time, but I am glad you both are ok now :hugs:
