I'm getting such mixed answers about whether it's normal on google... some sites say it can be normal, others say it must be an STD (which is definitely not the case) and others say it could be some sort of infection like a yeast infection or something along those lines.

I had some discharge that looks like snot - a little yellowy. It seemed like a lot of discharge in a small amount of time, but all in all was probably quarter sized. I hadn't had any issues before that, but I started to freak out and now I'm feeling sensitive down there and slightly crampy (but I don't know if it's just my mind playing games either). I asked OH to smell if it smells like normal discharge to him and he said it has a little bit of a funky smell to it (so gross and embarressing).

I've switched undies to see if it continues... thoughts? The doctors office is closed until Monday, so I don't want to call the emergency line unless there are serious concerns.

Imo it seems normal. I have had many different types of discharge (clear, white, yellow,&brown) due to bladder infection, yeast infection, cysts, and of course just the normal, but all my tests have been clear and infections treated and gone. Baby is healthy. My doc would probably check something like that out for me (I'm sure yours would too) but as long as all your tests have been clear and there is no blood my doc says that any discharge from clear to white to yellow and even some dark brown can be normal. You just have to be careful of infections (yeast, UTI, etc.) sounds like you might want to call the doc Monday morning to check in. Of course if you have blood or bad pains always call! In this case its better to be paranoid and find out its nothing than to ignore and be sorry later. Best luck.

Thanks! I'll keep an eye on it and call if anything changes

Hey, I've had exactly this and I've seen a few ladies who have had this.

The snotty big gloopy discharge that is a strange colour? I think it's meant to be little bits of your mucus plug. I asked my midwife about this and she said it's normal as long as there's no blood in it or pain around the time of finding this discharge.

You will regenerate this mucus plug. And the plug that finally comes out towards labour and birth will be much larger so don't worry you haven't lost the plug.

Maybe google mucus plug. I even was brave enough to look at the photos. But yeah I'm guessing it must shed little bits of plug, almost to keep everything cleaner and fresher down there, and then develop new plug.

I've had it come out in tiny little bits with my normal discharge and other times I've had the odd big bit that has made me freak out!

But it's normal as long as it's not a NASTY yellow or bloody.

When it comes to the cramps though, do chase that up, and mention you've had this discharge. But the cramps can be from anything. So it's better to be safe and make sure all is okay :)

Thanks. I googlee and that's exactly what it looks like. Ill mention it to my midwife at my next appt but wont stressnit for now

I'd say still call your midwife tomorrow purely because of the cramps though xx I never had cramps every time I've spotted that discharge xx

Can be completely unrelated but best to make sure xxx
