10-11dpo and potential ib but bfn

Hey everyone, been trying to conceive for just over 6 years now, managed too in February but Mc in March.

I have a 31 day cycle every month and ovulated on CD 17. On CD 19 I came down with a huge sore throat and cold which I've read in other posts has been an early pregnancy sign for some. CD 27 (10-11dpo) had the feeling off 'oh god I've come on early' went to the loo but it was just brown cm and only on the tissue. Nothing further and just some mild dull cramping.

BFN with fmu today, AF is due in 4 days. Maybe I tested too early or would I know by now as I did use a frer test.

I think I read after implantation it should take 2-3 days for your hcg to rise enough to show up on a test, so maybe it was too early?
