10 Weeks Pregnant & Just Got a Cold

Does anyone know if we should be worried if my wife has just got a bad cold and she is 10 weeks.

She is going to book an appointment with the doctors today as she want to know if there is anything safe to take.

I don't think there is anything she can take..... I know that I didn't take anything I just had to suffer lol but that was my doctor hers might say it's ok I would at least call to see if there is anything for some relief... I believe cough drops are ok but double check.

Don't take any meds without asking the Dr. But it is safe to use a vaporizer to add moisture to the air, and you can rub mentholatum on her chest.

I heard recently that if you cut an onion and put it in the bedroom with the sick person while they sleep, it absorbs the sickness! I'll be trying this one for sure, next time I'm sick!

awww poor thing!! its awfull being ill when your pregnant !! I went to the docs on wednesday with a cold and a sore throat and was diagnosed with tonsillitus!! Their is nothing i can take appart from paracetamol for my cold and to help keep my temp down and antibiotics for my throat but nothing else!! Hope shes feeling better soon xxx

I'm just getting over a bad cold and chest it seems like its lasted for ever, I wouldn't worry about it though, its horrible because theres not much you can take being pregnant but it won't do any harm to baby just having a cold. I took paracetomol and made honey and lemon to drink which helped my throat, the doctor just gave me antibiotics (amoxicylin) for my chest.

i've just got rid of mine. I didn't take anything for it but drank lots of water to keep hydrated. Hope she feels better soon.

I don't think there are many women who make it through pregnancy without catching at least one cold, and there's no negative effect on the baby to worry about from an ordinary cold.

I had one a couple of weeks back at 12 weeks, and didn't take anything for it other than honey and lemon drinks. I didn't go to the doctor because it seemed like a normal cold to me, and started to get better after a few days.

My wife went to the doctors today and your right there is nothing she can take.

She has just got herself some Pregnacare vitamins also to try and get all the goodness she needs.

Hope she feels better soon! I was miserable with mine but just took it easy and it was better within a week.

There is nothing to worry about she will be fine

Iv just got rid of my cold, it is crap not being able to take much you can get some medicine from boots, its basically just honey, sugar and lemon i think but it really did help sooth my throat and its totally safe in pregnancy. Hot drinks are good, it really helped me my OH making cups of hot vimto

she can take paracetamol 500mg on its own

but thats the only thng she can take it will help with any headaches she has but that really is it
