Hi ladies... I don't want to go running to doctor or midwife unnecessarily but I'm a little worried.
For the past 2 days I've had aching in the middle of my tummy, between my pubic bone and belly button. It feels like I've pulled a muscle but no amount of rest seems to cure it.
In fact, it seems to be more prominent after sleeping. If I get up to use the toilet in the night and when I get up in the morning, it feels quite tight and feels like I'm straining a muscle in my tummy.
Also had some pulling twinges in the same place, sometimes painful.

In addition to this, I've had a few sharp shooting pains in my hips. I don't notice it as much when I'm standing up but I was lying on the couch yesterday evening with this pain every few minutes. It's been in both hips so far but I can't work out a pattern to it.

Is this something I should worry about or could it just be stretching? I've had to take today off work because I sit in the same chair for 8 hours a day and I just ache again if I don't get to move around much.

Has anyone else experienced this? I'm hoping that I'm being paranoid but I can't help but worry after having some bleeding between 4 and 6 weeks. No bleeding now so far though *touches wood*

Thanks xx

not sure what it is but didnt want to read an run, all i can think it could be is serveer growing pains/aches but i would contact your doctor/midwife and question it...at the end of the day they are there for that and are most probs used to the questions. x x

It sounds like it might be worth getting it looked at if it continues. It might be bubs relayed stretching but equally it's possible you might have pulled something and doc might be able to sign you off for rest. Hope it eases off xxx

I had this babes with my last baby from about 16 weeks on wards and I was told it's spd look it up huni see if it's what you've got I'm hoping I don't get it again as it's painful and very uncomfortable and thank fully mine went as soon as my baby was born. X

Thanks ladies. xx
Poppy, thanks... I have looked it up. Doesn't look pleasant! I've called my midwife who said it's probably just growing pains. Generic "it's all linked together and stretching so thats why its hurting all at the same time" kind of answer.
I think I'll keep an eye on it and if it gets worse, I'll see my GP because if it's SPD and it worsens I'm not sure how I'll cope sitting in an uncomfortable chair 8hrs a day until March!
