My LO is 11 months this Saturday coming. For the past couple of months, he's really dropped his formula intake. He only has two 8oz bottles per day. One in the morning and one at night. For the past week, he's hardly been having any of his bottles. He'll take half of the morning one and half of his night time bottle, if I'm lucky. Some nights he's refusing his bottle at bedtime altogether. He will take drinks out of his straw cup and it's usually just water or some (very) diluted apple juice. He won't take formula from a cup though, only a bottle.

He has weetabix or porridge for breakfast with cows milk and he has lots of dairy during the day, so I'm not too worried but just wondering when I should start making the switch to cows milk? Last night, he refused his bedtime bottle and I gave him an oz of cows milk in his cup, just to see if he would take it. He drank it in about 20 seconds so gave him one more oz and he took that as well. I didn't give him anymore, because I'm not sure if it's allowed yet or not. He just doesn't seem interested in his formula now.

We switched over at 12 months. We replaced an afternoon bottle with cow's milk and then the evening bottle. She only takes the morning bottle with formula now.

I waited till 12 months on the dot. She loves her milk and still has one sippy cup before bed. I am pretty paranoid so I did wait - I'd wait for a week now to see if he develops any reaction.
Also are you sure it's not teething or some medical problem? I remember Isabella hated her bottles when she was teething, it was hurting her gums I always assumed. Once her tooth was cut (or her ear infection cleared up), she'd be back drinking whatever I was giving her at the time.

If he absolutely won't take it then yes, switch to cows milk. He needs that vitamin d for sure and they suggest about 24oz a day. We had a hard time getting my LO to drink milk from a sippy but we finally got her to do it and are completely done with bottles now. We give her all organic whole milk and she loves it! I told our doctor that we were giving her water and he said to stop the water because milk was more important so we give her all milk (she hates juice)
