Just need some reasurrance spent four hours at the hospital today as I had some lower abdominal pain and spotting red blood (which really scared me). They took blood and did an internal to check my cervix there was no abnormalitys and my cervix was closed they tried to do a scan but the lady wasn't trained in doing scan for women less than 14 weeks (we went to the womens health centre and got admitted to the labour ward, we werent really sure where to go and had an early scan there so thats why we went, so the scanner they had wasn't as powerful as the ones they use for early scans or 12 week scans). I didnt have a full bladder which didnt help she found our baby but it wasnt very clear although we could see the baby had grown a lot since having an early scan at 6 weeks and there was what looked like a heartbeat but she didnt want to say for certain. The doctor and midwife didn't seem to worried and they said to rest and I've got to go for a scan on monday which is my 12 week scan that I was already booked in for.

The bleeding seems to have stopped but I still have cramping although I guess it could be because of having an internal. Sorry for such a long post I'm just feeling so scared this is my first pregnancy and I thought we were through the really scary time. Just want to know my little one is alright.

Dont panic hun. The fact that your cervix is closed is really good news. So just rest up, take some paracetamol if you need to. Wont be long and you will be having your scan. The pain could be stretching pains too, they can get quite painful, do keep an eye on it though.

For some people cramping is normal i had cramping the entire way through my pregnancy and it was fine i guess that was just me for whatever reason. I bled too and it was all fine. Relax, put your feet up, watch a movie and try to be positive, it sounds like your baby is doing great. If your midwife and doctor are not worried then try and trust them.

Thank you for your replies trying to stay positive. I'm on bed rest so taking it easy my husband is being great running round after me, making sure the house is clean and tidy and I'm fed. Just want to get to my scan it's tomorrow at half 2 once I've seen my baby and know everything is alright I'll be able to relax a little bit more.

Hope all goes well for you hun. Good luck. Enjoy your scan, try not to panic too much too, easier said. Let us know how you get on.
