DD goes to bed around 7 pm and doesn't like to get up until 8:30 am. Is this too long for her to be in bed? She does not sleep through, for example last night she woke at 8:30 pm (hungry), 9:30 pm (pacifier), 11 pm (hungry), 2 am (hungry), 4 am (pacifier), 5 am (hungry). Then when she woke at 7 am I tried to get her up but she fell asleep 15 min later when I brought her into my bed while I checked my emails. During the day she has three naps usually, two 30-45 min nap and a longer 1.5 hr nap midday. So in total she is getting 16-17 hrs of sleep in a day. This seems like too much to me, should I be getting her up earlier? Or try putting her to bed later with a short evening nap? Could too much sleep be the reason for all the night waking? Or does she need more sleep because she is waking so much?

I should add that after 7 am she will go back to sleep in my bed, but won't resettle in her crib.

My wee one actually sleeps more than yours, lol!

She goes down at 9pm and sleeps til 9am, has her bottle then goes down until 10:30-11am. She has 3 naps through the day, all between 1 and 2 hours. She is super active between naps though! She literally doesn't sit still when she is awake.

Nope. Not too long. My daughter was similar. In fact, she regularly sleeps 12-13 hours with NO FEEDING, crazy, right? Of course, she didn't start doing that until 7-8 months old.

Edited to add my wee one doesn't wake at all for over 12 hours every single night. She has done this since around 4-6 weeks.

I wish!! Haha. Hopefully soon I won't have to get up to replace her pacifier, she can do it herself but needs help if she has pushed her pacifiers out of reach, which happens often as she is trying to grab for them in her sleep. Sometimes I think she plans ahead because I'll go in to check on her and she'll be asleep with a pacifier in her mouth and one in each hand! When she wakes to feed I can hear her tummy growling so she is definitely hungry. I am hoping she will cut down on night feeds when we start offering her finger food. She is also extremely active when she is awake, she is almost crawling already.

Often they make up for their night wakings with a lie-in. Our 11-month-old was up quite a bit last night, so he decided to sleep in until 10.30! That was 15 hours in bed! I actually went in to check he was breathing

Not at all....my DS2 has done 12.5 hours at night with no night wakings since 15 weeks....DS1 was similar....both did cat naps of 45 mins during day until they started crawling too.

Jumpin - hope things are going better for you. Sounds like you are getting some sleep these days.

Not at all. My son goes to bed at 6:30 and sleeps til 8 without waking. He has done this since 4 months xx

All my 3 have liked their sleep! DD2 goes to sleep around 7.30 and wakes around 6.30, sometimes she'll go back to sleep for another half hour or so. So 11 hours at night. Then she'll have an hours nap from around 8.30-9.30, about 3 hours from 11.30-2.30, and another hour from 4.30-5.30. So 16 hours in total, same as your DD. She just likes her sleep/naps. No baby can really have too much sleep, they'll have what they need. As long as they're not showing any other symptoms of being unwell and are active and alert when awake, there's really nothing to worry about. I'll miss the naps when she stops!
