My boyfriend says he rang hmrc at work and was told we'd recieve 132 a week in child/tax credits. I'm a bit shocked at how high this is and don't think it's right (we have an income of 14,000)? Any advice? xx

when we had 1 child and my oh earnt 17000 a year we got 59 a week ctc and 6 a week wtc

my OH earns around 13k before tax we have one child we get £59 CTC and £46 WTC and the obvious £20 CB all goes into my bank isnt a great deal tbh lol x

I suppose but that adds up to 127 pounds a week which, when you're on a tight budget, surely helps a lot?? That would easily pay for my OH's petrol and our food shop lol xx

My joint income is £7000 and we get £120 TC per week, I would defiantly check it it does seem high x

yes 6 pound a week. I wouldnt count on that amount till you get your reward notice. I didnt think they normally gave amounts over the phone. But there not nown for there accracy

Ours is currently 109 a week WTC & CTC . That's on a Income of 11,000. One child & both of us work ( WTC goes up when you both work)

we get £59 a wk ctc and £65 a wk wtc. OH works and gets around £12,000 per yr

Try this:

https://taxcredits.hmrc.gov.uk/Qualify/DIQHousehold.aspx

It gives you an estimate x

My OH is a student so slightly different. I earn £10k a year (usually less as a temp so lots of time goes unpaid) and we get £60 per week.

I would wait for the award notice before you do any budgeting. Also, if your LO is less than 1 year it's higher.

they no longer pay more for under ones. This stopped in april

Just out of interest - do you get housing benefit as well? If so, my OH would be better off taking a 10k pay cut.......

Same Q as Kittique, I worked out on the entitledto website that if i didnt go back to work we would be better off (I dont plan on staying that way forever) and I would much rather be a SAHM, so do any of you get around 100-150 a month tax credits and housing benefit? X

my income is £7000, i get £220 a week in TC but a third of that is disability premiums x

My other half earns 20500 and we get £340 a month child tax credits so could well be right!! x

our joint income for april 10 - april 11 was around 10,000 oh was unemployed all year and still is and our ctc and wtc a week is £107

Our income for last year was 21.000 and we get £30 a week in CTC, no work tax cred and then we get £80 a month for Callum in CB, so all in all I get £200 for him for a month xxx

Our household income is £38,000 combined, and we have been told we will get £10.43 per week.... I assume if I dont go back to work when my Mat Pay stops in June 2012 that we could claim more based on DH's income of £18,000 but I will most likely need to go back to work then... but DH earns good commission so maybe I wont have to? x
