I was just talking to OH about Christmas and the topic of running came up, I started a conversation about using an iphone to time your running and track the distance you run (OH is a runner ) he said that he couldnt use an Iphone or ipod as the thing that goes on your arm would annoy him :(

I have got him and Ipod Nano, a thing for his arm to hold it and some running earphones to use with it and now it will be a waste if he doesnt like it, I cant send the Ipod back as he did hint he wanted one before and I have opened it to check all it well.

What would you do? he did say in the past that he would like an ipod to use while running but now he is saying it will annoy him  I dont have a clue what to do and I am really upset that I may have got him a present (his main present) that he wont even like

Oh no, is there any other case that maybe has a clip instead of the band?x

This happens to me all the time. Well, not quite the same, but DH always guesses the extra cool surprise pressie that Ive bought him. It drives me mad. Dont worry about your DH. He wont know whether the thing on his arm annoys him or not til he tries it. He will most likely be gutted when he realises what's happened too. And like you say, he's already hinted at the ipod, so he'll be delighted with the most expensive part of the pressie even if he doesnt end up using it for running xx

He doesn't know it will annoy him til he tries :) But don't worry! I'm sure he will love the ipod even if he doesn't like the band... I used to run wiith mine in my hand as its the only place I found comfortable, and easy to change track too xx

Men are so stupid, imagine saying anything negative about any product so close to christmas when it's quite possibly already been bought for them! Honestly though I wouldn't worry, he'll love it once he actually tries it. And if he tries it and really doesn't like the arm band there are waist ones too - or he can buy himself a fetching bumbag to zip it up inside :haha: Either way it's not like it'll be wasted, he can still use the iPod at other times x

Awww :hugs: If it's any consolation I did similar to my OH. He was showing me an mp3 player with a radio online and I said something about how it was pointless blah blah (I had a really old fashioned walkman at the time) when he had bought me the very one for Christmas!!
I loved it once I had it and use it all the time! I'm sure he'll be really pleased with it.

can he put it on his wrist instead? An iphone is way bigger than a nano...

Urgh I've had this happen a few times. I wrap it anyway then when he opens it I say in an arsy way I know you don't like it but I'd slready bought it so tough lol he'll probably say oh I don't remember saying that ha ha!

I think it's a great gift, and I am sure he will love it hun... :)

Like the others have said, I'm sure he will love it even if he doesn't end up using it for running. I used to hold mine too x

He may get used to the arm band. I found mine itchy at first and it slid off a bit, but I wear a blinking LED on one arm for night runs and there's no options, you kinda have to wear that one, so I just got used to the one for my iPhone too.

Thanks ladies, I am feeling a bit better about it now :) xx

I think he will end up liking it once he tries it! I am thinking of one for my iphone too.

He won't even notice it on his arm after a few minutes. I wore my iphone on my arm while I ran a marathon, and couldn't tell I had it on :)
He'll love it.
xx

I think he will love it and I bet you he will apologise for saying he didn't want one when he sees what you've got him
