Hi

I am really worried and wondered if anyone else has had the same situ as me! Am nearly 17 weeks and have a doppler which I have been mostly been able to find the heartbeat for the past week and had a few kicks (I think) at the beginning of the week - but for the past couple of days there has been absolutely nothing. I can't find anything with the doppler and no kicks. :(

Has this happened to anyone else? I could hear and find the heartbeat fairly easy at the beginning of the week but now just can't find anything. Tried to call midwife twice but she is not calling me back as trying to see if I should be booked in for a 20 week scan as not been told anything. Thinking of booking a private scan but know OH will go mad!

Thankyou!
xx

I know at 13 weeks the OB had trouble finding a heartbeat (she had to try about 15 mins and than when she did find it the baby moved). I don't own a doppler though and am not sure about how easy the heartbeat should be to find at this stage. I'm sure some of the other girls can help you out though :hugs:

Baby has most likely moved the a position where its hard to pick up the heartbeat . everything should be fine hun if you are that worried you should get it checked out to put your mind at rest. Keep us posted hun xxxxx

Hey I know I am a little further on, but I have a doppler and sometimes the heartbeat was really faint and hard to hear as it was on the back wall (so to speak) try at different times of the day and even laying down sitting up. If no luck go to get checked at Maternity Unit :)

We had a hard time finding our peanut's HB around that time too. Turns out she shifted way up and to the other side and it was near impossible to find. It's also pretty early for you to be feeling your LO consistently, so no worries-though I know that's much easier said than done!

We had a scare too at 15ish weeks, couldn't find the heartbeat but the bub was fine. The baby probably moved over to a place thats hard for it to be detected. If you're super worried and still haven't heard from the midwife yet then go into the hospital and get it checked out hon :hugs:

I think your baby has probably just migrated to your back for a while! I wouldn't worry about it too much. Maybe go to the hospital and ask them to find it? They did for me at 18 weeks :)

OKAY don't panic......

Before 16wks it can be very hard to pick up a heartbeat as the baby is still a way down in the pelvis, so the fact you can't hear it will be the position of the baby, you was obviously very lucky in finding the hearbeat in the first place. At around 16 weeks the baby starts to move out of the pelvis and makes it easier for the heartbeat to be heard, but not necassarily for you to find it and not always for a proffessional.

As for the kicks, I had my first at 16 wks and a few in between, but nothing concrete and regular until 22-23wks. At your stage it is not likely you will have regular kicks as the baby is still very weak and small.

By all means, ring your MW, but please try not to worry! :hugs:x

Thankyou everybody. Might have been panicking a bit early as we finally found the heartbeat again last night with the help of OH. Phew. I know I need to stay calm but it is so difficult! Remind me of this if I start panicking again in a few weeks. ;)
xx
