So I was 93 at 15 days, which when I googled is in line and normal for 15 dpo. 2 Days later it jumped to 167 - not quite a full double but close. I checked a doubling calculator and it came back at 69 hours - normal being 36 to 72 hours for doubling I have heard.

So it appears I'm in the normal range thank goodness. But it's just not as strong as I'd like - I was hoping for a HUGE jump -

I should be happy that it's close to doubling - and I am - I just wish it were on the faster side of the average, than on the slower side.

Sigh. so much to worry about...

Too much information can be a bad thing. I don't think anybody should know what their hcG levels are right off the bat because it causes so much unnecessary panic. Well, can you go back in another 2 days to get it done again? Otherwise, you just have to wait and see what happens (as you'll have to with the rest of your pregnancy anyway). Good luck, though!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for the positive words:) I miscarried in August - the key indicator /sign of a problem was the non-rising HCG levels. They went up SO slowly, we saw the heart beat at 6 weeks, then at another ultrasound at 8 weeks, they saw that the heart had stopped at 7 wks. Right now, I am deathly afraid of a repeat scenario, so am looking to the HCG levels to find some comfort and hope that history will not repeat itself. I'm not getting a STRONG feeling - the numbers are good, but not great - but it keeps me from stressing like a crazy woman to know that I am in the normal range at least, and that there is a good chance this will be ok!!!! I'm 42, and have one little girl, and I think my chances of having a successful pregnancy are just falling apart with my age. It's a thread of hope to think that it might be ok.. just wish it was a stronger thread :) LOL

I do have another appt next thursday for a Draw - so should know in a week where I am.

Hi Tina, as long as your levels stay in the normal range, Stay POSITIVE! Things are still so early that nobody ever really has a strong feeling, it's probably just last year weighing on your mind. Good luck, and I'm sure that you'll be ok :flower:

Hi Tina,
My clinic said that they look for the numbers to double or at least rise by 60%, so it looks like you are doing well so far with a rise of about 80%. I know nothing will truly put your mind at ease until things have progressed further, but I figured I'd add my 2 cents. I've had a mc last year as well, so I know the fear. I go for my third beta on Tuesday and I'm scared about that one as well - but it's out of my hands right now, so I'm trying to focus on the positive of being pregnant...so much to worry about is right!

Nette - thank you!! :)

Kaylakin - thank you as well. It looks like we are 1 day off! I'm 5 wks 5 days as of today (saturday). we should buddy up - can I ask what your hcg levels were, since we in line? I am guessing they were stronger than mine, but I am curious.

Thanks everyone again!

Yes, it looks like we are about a week off from each other, right? Also, how did you get betas drawn so early? Was it just to confirm at your office or did you have assisted conception at all? I've had two betas drawn so far, and the first was 14 dpo and it was 99. The second was 16 dpo and it was 214. The nurse did specifically say that they were looking for them to double or at least rise by 60%. It is so hard to tell anything at this point, and numbers that are not "textbook" rising can be completely fine!
Is there any way you could go in earlier in the week instead of waiting until Thursday? The wait is torture!

oops - I MEANT 4 wks 5 days!! I was tested at 15 DPO because of my problems last time- got a 93, at 17 DPO 167 that was thursday (got the results friday). So I think we are a day off..

Oh great! Yes, then we are one day off! How are you feeling? You still have to wait until Thursday right? I go in tomorrow for one more beta -- I'm nervous but I just have to hope for the best..that's all we can do right?

Yep - Thursday is the next draw - fingers crossed! Feeling exhausted about 70% of the time. I get the occasional energy spurt, but mostly am in need of a nap! have some nausea and the occasional food aversion.

I believe they want me to have an appointment next week, not sure if it's for a scan or just an initial appt. they said they wanted to draw blood once more one week before my appointment, which would be the on on Thursday.

That's going to be my key value - I really want it to hit over 1300 (ok I want a lot more than that, but around 1300 would be the 80%or so doubling I had with the first 2 draws, so that's the minimum I'd want it to be)

Let me know how your numbers are doing! Sounds like we were close on our first draw - mine was 93 at 15 DPO(guessing), and yours was 99 at 14 DPO - but yours doubled better than mine did ..
