baby is well and around 12cm head to bottom. heart beating well.

He said I've gained around 5.5 kilos so far (12 pounds ish) which is fine - its maybe 200g (0.4 pounds) a month too much - It should be a gain of about 1 kilo per month but that the extra wasnt really anything to worry about....or was it me that said that??

Oh bugger...why do I have to be on the heavier side of average?...Am determined to reduce my chocolate intake and to increase the fruit.

he also said it might be too early to feel baby move...which doesnt explain my "hamster" feelings...but time will tell. He said it might be my bowels...urgh...

if the doctor wasnt too worried i wouldnt worry about it,your pregnant for goodness sake.you have your wonderful baby growing and if baby is fine and healthy then i wouldnt worry.

ive got my 16 week appointment today so im guessing midiwfe will weigh me and i bet ive put on too much weight.

im glad baby is fine and growing.

Thank goodness my MW hasn't checked my weight since I went to her when I was 3 weeks :p
I dread to think how much I have put on :S

I felt my baby moving at 16 weeks, and my midwife confirmed it so I think he's talking rubbish about that :p You could well be feeling it moving at your stage.

And if you need to eat then you need to eat, cant starve the baby! Thats my excuse anyway! Im going to get fat no matter what so nows not the time to watch my weight :)

xxx

I wish I had your doctor Tiny Toes!!! I´ve put on 3kg in total and when I asked my doctor if this was OK, she said I should be careful and not to overdo it eating wise!!! I wouldn´t mind, but I´ve not been really hungry these last few weeks and if anything have eaten less rather than more. I was choked up with cold for a week or so, which dampened my appetite, as I couldn´t taste anything!

I didn´t dare tell her that my brother and sister in law had brought 12 cadburys creme eggs and a load of hula hoops over for me!!!!!

CK that's hardly anything! Unless you're very petite maybe? Seems she's worrying you unnecessarily. 1 kilo a month thats what he definately said.
I am 5'6" and naturally a 12 or 14, so I'm trying to convince myself the extra weight is all that extra...urm...blood??

Oh I´m glad you´ve said that!

I´m not petite at all, but I´m not overweight either. I´m about 5"6 and a size 14. She just mentioned some report that came out saying that generally women who put on up to 12kg in weight were able to lose that weight after the baby was born, yet women who put on over 12kg in weight, had more problems losing the extra weight.

Its typically one of those reports done every year to tell us how to live our lives!!! Well bugger it, I´m off for a cuppa and a cadburys creme egg!!!

Glad your appointment went well. I haven't felt any movements myself, just a few days behind you....

I've been eating house and home (and plenty of chocolate) but hadn't gained any weight as of Wednesday  I was shocked I just knew the doctors were going to get onto me.
