I think Eden is very pretty, it's my favourite out of all your girls names.

My niece is called Robyn and she is gorgeous, im so proud to be her Aunt. I love the name Eden, was on my list for Taylor and Daisy is wonderful, sadly i cant call my next (fingers crossed) Daisy as her initials wud be DD and double d is not a nickname i think she wud like.

Well i have a Mollie, Taylor and a Katie, tbh im quite a traditional name person and ive never recieved neg comments re my kids names. Woe betide any1 who did.

All 3 of then suit their names and they all have special meanings to me.

I love Eden, we thought of Freya for a girl and my Mum actually wrote it down looked at it, then said no I don't think so somehow!! I just told her that it was up to me and hubby what we called our child, we've learnt now not to tell anyone our choices as people can be so rude and nooone is ever that rude when your baby is actually here - well not to your face anyway lol

I like your name choices too :-)

Everyone we know knew how hard it was for us to decide on names and those people who gave their opinions whilst I was still pregnant (whether we asked for them or not) were put in their place, so I don't think anyone dared to comment after he was born, but we had a similar reaction, just "awww" or silence. Lol! I don't care, I love his name :-) And now other people like it too - I really believe that you just get used a child's name, and even the most unusual name becomes like second nature after you've called the child by it a few times - I could never think of him having any other name!

I think your l/o's names are lovely too . Im not really bothered by peoples comments tbh, I love all of my kids names :winkwink:, but I suppose the one that most people look puzzled at or get wrong is Shani (pronounced Shaynee), I guess because its a relatively unusual name .

My girls names are very unusual, India , Heavenly and Meadow.

People either just say awww thats different or I get 'poor kids' and the one that always annoy me is 'your children are going to be so bullied'.

I think your childrens names are lovly.

We have decided on a name for this baby but we are not going to tell people who know us as we get the ridiculous comments.

Love your baby names too. Eden is a gorgeous name. It sounds very regal and classic at the same time as remaining unique.

When we first told people our daughter's name (Marlowe) we got comments ranging from "what a gorgeous name" to "oh, that's unusual". People constantly ask me where it's from and it actually has an English background, but I think it's more common in the USA where I'm from.

Like you, I don't care either way. I love her name and it couldn't fit anyone more perfect than my daughter. As my friend said the other day "When you first told us her name I thought- oh that's controversial, but now I just think that no other name would suit her!" Also like you her name has a deep meaning to me so that's all that matters. :)

I actually never heard of Eden as a name but i love it! Its a gorgeous name, I also like daisy & robyn for little girls they are all very pretty names hun so ignore other people x

I don't get no response coz my sons name is Joshua lol on the other hand i get a lot of response about bumps 1st name " Jaxon-Ted ", My grandma is still calling him Jack grrrr, & loads of people instead of just saying oh its not for me, say.. ohhh erm thats a diff one never heard it before, If they don't know how to reply when they dont like it then they shouldn't ask x

I wasn't too impressed with some of the responses I was getting to my potential names so I'm now going to keep the name a secret until I have the baby (once I definately choose a name!) xx

when people ask what my sons name is and i say zane they either say....

shane? or kane? so i have to repeat no zane n the look at me funny or i just get oh thats unusual

on the odd occasion i get oh thats a really nice name

My eldest daughter is called Ross and i always get asked if its short for something its not my mil died  before our daughter was born and Ross was her middle name i would have used the name if it had been a boy as her first name was Devina and was not keen on the name :nope:. My second daughter was going to be called Charley but i thought people would think i wanted a boy so she's a Hannah-Louise this baby was going to be a Charley either way we found its a boy but should he pop out a she it will be Charley-may :happydance:

i cant stand the name shane either so really does my nut in when my sisters ohs mum calls him shane lol

I love love the name Eden!

People can be really really rude, I would never dream of not saying " oh thats a lovely name " to anyone lol! It stops peoples feelings getting hurt!

Everyone seems to like our boys name and a few have been a bit hmm about our girls name. I don't mind if people don't like it but theres no need to be rude and I have had one family member say " Thats not a real name, and I really hope its a boy now" ... nice.

oh tabby i commented on your thread about your girls name and i think its fab!!!

thanks to all you girls for your lovely comments :hugs:

My son is called Justice and when ever I tell people I either get "oh Justin, thats a nice name" or just a blank stare! Some people, tend to be younger ones absolutely love it.

I do admit it took me a while to get used to it as OH was intent on having it from day one but took a while to grow on me, my mum actually said to me before he was born " there is no way im walking down the street and calling him Justice". So rude but now she loves it too! I am really suprised that people feel they can comment on something that is your personal choice and you obviousley like. I love the name Eden and it may even now be added to my maybe list if thats ok, so thanks :-)

I have 2 boys - Kerr and Evan. With Kerr people usually liked it and said it was unusual without being silly and old people usually commented that they hadn't heard that name for years. With Evan people either love it or just don't say anything at all (which i take it means they don't like it!) but i don't care if they like the names i picked or not. Everyone likes different names and i don't always like other peoples choices so i don't see why they should all like mine:-) Number 3 (a girl) is prob going to be called Cori and im sure we will get the 'but thats a boys name' and other comments which is why im not telling nayone i know until she arrives (except you lot!) I wanted unusual names for my kids but simple and not silly at the same time. I love Eden btw (may run that one past hubby :-)

Its when the names are written down it seems to coz a prob - people call Kerr 'Keir' and Evan 'Ewan' which i dont understand as they are very simply spelled. For Kerr's first birthday he nearly had Kerry written on his cake till i pointed out to the baker that he was a boy!!
