Hi. My lo has really started to fight his naps in the day. He used to be really good and fall asleep in chair or swing no trouble. Since he has had his jabs and he had ear infection all in the same week he has been a pickle trying to get him to sleep. He is fine in the car or pram.He isnt like it everyday and he is very good at night settles himself and sleeps through. He is BF and he does like to comfort suck and I have tried him with different types of dummies but he wont take to them. He is currently asleep on me which is a pain as i have two year old too look after as well.

My maggie is exactly the same up until 2 days ago she used to nap well every 2 hrs in her pram, car seat and her bed but now she is fighting it and will only nap on me which is a pain. I wonder why? Tried googling it but don't get anywhere.... Any advice ladies?

Im sure it is a phase hun, with him bein poorly too! i always found that if my son would fight naps i would put him in his buggy and rock him to sleep! xx

bella's been going through this the last week or so. she's been getting so, so grouchy because she's been overtired. at the moment, i'm letting her sleep on me, it's the only way right now that she will sleep, as she needs to sleep in the day. i'll focus on getting her to sleep in her moses basket when we've got the actual, her back sleeping during the day thing sorted.
xx

I read somewhere that around this age they do start to fight naps as they don't want to miss out on anything by being asleep! With Callum I just perservered with getting him to sleep and hes a lot better at napping during the day now

I also make sure that he goes to sleep after an hour and a half of being up, anymore than that and he will become overtired and really start to fight it.

xx

I've found Elsie is the same so I try and keep to a routine and try and get her to nap every 2 hours-ish, I also hold her the exact same way everytime I'm getting her off to sleep so she knows its nap time. It works quite well if we're at home but it kinda goes out the window when we're out.

Thanks I did think that might be the case as well the little monkey!! I have not given in today and he is currently napping in his bouncer but I have also noticed that his naps are getting a lot shorter but he is still tired when he wakes up as he is grouchy. Yesterday afternoon I went and laid him on my bed and he had something to eat and went to sleep for 3 hours but i fell asleep too!! xx

Yeah Callum did this too at the start! He's have 10 minutes and wake up grouchy and I knew he was still tired, I had a couple of days where all it seemed I was doing was trying to get him to sleep!

He does still nap best when hes on me during the day but obviously we can't do this all the time, he is getting better at sleeping in his bouncer during the day now though.

From next week i'm gonna try and get him to nap in the cot as he sleeps really well in it at night, not sure how we'll get on though! Wish me luck! xx

Good Luck!!! I think this is what I am going to do as sometimes Toby wakes him up too so he might nap better if he is upstairs xx
