I took my DS to get his vaccines and his 4 month check up when he was 19 weeks old. He is now 27" Long and 14lbs10oz, which his doctor said was OK but that he could afford to fatten up. My son is both breastfed and formula fed. I can't get my DS to eat, he's always been this way. He doesn't eat like the average 4 month old. On a good day I can get him to have 5oz in one bottle, usually, he's ok with about 4oz per feeding. Because of this, I offer him a feeding every 1.5-2hrs but he'll refuse to eat. I BF on demand, so when he refuses his bottle, I will do my best to keep him on my breast, which he'll usually take, but will just start playing like 3 minutes in. His ped said I could start rice cereal. He will NOT take it in a spoonfuls. I put a little cereal in his bottle 2 times a day to get him use to the texture first. He does well with it in the bottle, but will not take anything in a spoon. I want to start him on potatoes in about 3 weeks but so far he's not doing so well with rice cereal fed by spoon. Any tips? Suggestions? I'd greatly appreciate any insight! TIA
