Morning ladies.
I have changed my 20 week scan to the 20th of september now and im just wondering if there is any tips on how to avoid those little legs been crossed, I heard that drinking fizzy pop helps? don't no if this is true or not. The only reason i ask is because if my baby has his/her legs crossed then the next time i go for a scan my OH won't be here as he will have to fly back to Afghanistan, so im preying that this baby will co-oporate i really don't want him missing out on the great moment of finding out if were having a son or a daughter :)
Any tips/advice would be good thanks ladies

Theres nothing you can do really except hope for the best.
I personally think its an urban myth that drinking something fizzy
will ensure that bubs legs are open lol.

oh no :( lol I guess i will just have to hope and prey !!!

For my 12 week scan the baby was rather sleepy and would not move into a position where the sonographer could measure the nucal fold. She had me jumping up and down, moving position, going for a walk, coughing. Baby still would not move for her. It kept raising its hand as if to say go away i'm sleeping.

In the end the sonographer made me go away and have a sugary coffee... it worked a treat. Baby was jumping around like crazy and we got the position we needed straight away whilst being very entertained by a mexican jumping bean - LO even had the sonographer in hysterics. She told me that the combination of the caffine and the sugar makes the baby more active very quickly.

For my 20 week scan I think I will treat myself to a coffee before I go in so hopefully we will be able to catch a glimpse of the gender.

Oh great !! I hope this works for me although i don't like coffee i wonder if fizzy sugary pop will work for me :D x

I suppose if you drink something with caffine in it, like coke, then it will do the same thing. It's all about the caffine and sugar.

fizzy pop and a chocolate bar is recommended 20 mins before a private scan as it gets baby moving around so maybe give that a go x

I had problems in my 12 week scan, sonographer kind of prodded bubs a little and they moved on their own after some boxing first of course ;) Try and jump around a little before you go in lol (Although you might look like a crazy woman in the waiting room haha)

LOL! I honestly really do not care how daft i look lol as long as my baby behaves :) I might just jump around in the car park before hand haha x

My 12 week scan took an hour because bubs went to sleep and refused to move or cooperate at all for the measurements. Hmmm, like his/her father there then lol. BUt yeah, i went through the coughing and bouncing my bum up and down on the bed and then jumping up and down in the hospital corridor and dancing and jiggling about....i was the only one doing it so i must have looked a right plank!

I was told to try a cold drink beforehand , and the sugar and caffiene thing too so am going to try that. She also said to have some carbs beforehand but i dont get that because carbs make me sleepy so i thought it would do the same for bubs.

LOL i bet that was funny hehe. No ive not heard the carbs thing before either, Im just going to try the sugary drink thing :D hope it works!!
x
