During my 20 weeks scan, I found out that my placenta is posterior low (appeared low lying with the lower edge measuring 1.3cm from the internal os). My report says at well that I have abnormal placenta - and the lakes have a 30% of placental mass.

Did anyone had something like this...I really need to understand how serious is this, because honestly my scan technician was not that good explaining.

Can anyone help?

Thank you all

I had lots of lakes with my ds pregnancy. They said it was nothing to worry with. From what i understand, they will just watch you closely with the low lying placenta. If it stays low, they may do a section. Hope that helps :)

I had a large lake with my daughter which freaked everyone out as they said they'd never seen one so large before.

I have no idea if it was related or not but I got severe pre-eclampsia and help syndrome. I know pre-e is placenta related...

Hey you may be on to something... i had severe preeclampsia too and they said i was headed toward help...

I think it makes sense. Pre-eclampsia is caused through a problem with blood flow to the placenta and placental lakes are a problem with blood flow in the placenta.
