I just got out of hospital after having a nasty gastro/stomach bug. All I can say is, if any of you ladies ever get sick, call someone about it ASAP.
I had been up vomiting since midnight and at 9am could still not keep anything in no matter how hard I tried. A sip of liquid, suck on an ice cube, anything would set me off immediately and I was vomiting everything 15-30minutes to the point of bringing up blood.
I rang my obgyn (even though I thought he would tell me to ride it out) but he admitted me straight away into hospital. All the tests they ran on me when I got there showed I was badly dehydrated already and it took 5 goes alone to get a cannula in for a drip!
Finally came home today after many bags of fluid and medications to stop the vomiting and nausea. I feel human again! So thankful to the wonderful nurses and my doctor to look after me and our baby.
Keep well ladies and if ever unsure, call someone, don't sit and ponder! So thankful I did. Better to be safe than sorry.
